Poor Janet! Not only has she had to cope with the untimely death of her brother, Michael Jackson, but she was also dealing with the end of her seven-year relationship to Jermaine Dupri (at least, according to some of Jermaine’s friends). Jermaine’s conspicuous absence at Michael’s memorial was explained as "he doesn’t go to funerals," but it looks like there was more to it than that.
"They have been moving in different directions for a while.
"You shouldn’t mix business with pleasure," a mutual pal explains.
(Dupri produced several tracks on her last two CDs.) "Janet felt their
lives were too crossed and they should have kept things sepaÂrate."
On top of that, Janet and Jermaine were apparently "polar opposites."
"Jermaine likes to be out there, mingling with everybody, and ÂJanet’s more shy."
Janet reportedly is keeping herself busy caring for Michael’s kids while mourning his death.
"She’s devastated," an insider says. "She’s busy caring for Michael’s kids. Janet’s the family’s backbone."
Janet’s rep could not be reached for comment.
It seems odd that Janet and Jermaine would reach this conclusion after seven years together, but maybe it’s for the best. Sometimes things just don’t work out.

I just saw a video today on ESPN….does anyone remember Pacman Jones (ex football player) who got in trouble because he was involved with a 2007 strip club shooting in Las Vegas (yeah, it’s random) ANYWAY Jermaine Dupri was also there, he’s on video yelling at the strippers not to pick up the money when they were “making it rain” after everyone was throwing thousands of dollars on the stage… and it was pretty weird. nelly was there too. So, this does not surprise me. Janet can do waaaaaay better than some guy who hangs out with thugs at the strip club ***annie***
Poor Janet is right! i hope that she can move on with her life and give those kids love and attention cause they need it. Im sure is only gonna be a matter of time till she finds someone thats right for her.
They broke up before MJ’s memorial but just got back together. Jermaine is the best thing that’s ever happened to her. Janet has a lot of issues.

that troll was the best thing that ever happened to janet, her words not mine. it is not about looks it is about how he treat her and make her feel about herself. she is a rich famous superstar who shouldd not have any thing to worry about right. WRONG. she is a human being with emotions problems and FEELINGS like the rest of us. hers is just magnified because of who she is. i have never read or heard about the jackson family acting like they were better than anybody i understand they are all down to earth and real people. i do not know if they are together or not i do not care as far as it is not my business. but for janet’s sake i wish it was not true. jermaine going to the strip joint is not a problem for janet she goes to the strip joint with him and throw money up there too to the ladies. i am a witness and i wanted to reach out to my sister katherine but i knew thir privacy was the important thing. so many lies about this family is making me ill. poor janet please there is nothing poor about janet. bhe is going to be o.k. i am not related to michael but i got mainly physically ill when he died because i told my son in february and again the day befor he dird that he was going to die and i almost fell out of my chair when i heard that on the news the very next day. the jackson family need peace, our prayers and thir privacy please. thank you
Even if it was the right move for them, it is really hard to deal with 2 major losses within such a short period of time.
