Is Russell Crowe Becoming Robin Hood?

Russell Crowe may be taking his role of Robin Hood to heart. One of the crew members working on the ‘Robin Hood’ film came to work upset one day because her car burst into flames and she would have to buy another. Russell reportedly teased her about it.

"Well, I suppose it’s OK for you, Russell,"
Denise [the crew member] reportedly fired back. "You’ve probably never had to worry about
finding five grand for a new car."

According to the Mirror, the
apologetic actor then gave her 5,000 pounds (approximately $8,100) to
help pay for her new vehicle, telling her, "There you go. You can buy a
10,000 pound car now."

According to "a source," Russell is known on the set for his generosity.

That certainly was a nice gesture, wasn’t it?

I dont think hes that bad of a guy, some people just have short tempers. like my sister, I probably have about 10 scars thanks to her, but I still love that lil brat, its just the way she is

Looks like that horse is bowl-legged because of his huge self.

  3. switchstance5 says:

Wow that’s really generous of him! I would be so embarrassed if I were her though!

… sometimes, “just the way” someone is requires anger management…

He also bought Jen Conelly a car when they filmed that Howard movie. The NY Times years back printed an article that he’s so generous and kind to his crew on 3:10 to Yuma while Christian Bale was aloof and a diva.

A nice gesture, yes, but it just goes to show how far removed from reality celebrities are. They have no idea what it’s like to struggle with money and figure out how to pay for something like a car.

i think he did have times in his live without money. and i realy think its hard earned money. he seems to be always anoyed by the media attention though loving to be an actor. but he seems to belong to those who dont love all the attention they get just for bein a movie star.

I can’t believe he teased her about it though. Very insensitive. I think what he did though is a nice apology.

i would laugh if my car randomly burst into flames. i would be upset, but also find it hilarious. i don’t think it’s that mean of him to tease her about it.

The original report said that lots of the people on set were gathering round and making comments and jokes. Not just Russell. People at work do that don’t they? It doesn’t follow they are being mean. Besides, I don’t suppose she is paid a pittance for what she does. Bad luck certainly, but she’s hardly on the street.
Lots of of Crowe’s co-stars and crew have refered to his being generous and kind on set…on this one and others….generally organizing things for the crew etc. But it never seems to make any difference to the perception that he is a bad guy.
This was a nice thing to do. My summerhouse was squashed by a falling tree last week. I have had lots of folks laugh about it. I don’t hold it against them cos it does look ridiculous. ..If one of them would turn round and give me some dosh to replace it I certainly wouldn’t view it as merely ‘making amends’.

Will Russell Crowe —now that he’s made his money –EVER leave his
staler by the minute comfort zone?

The movie is gonna be ruined with Russell as Robin Hood. Not acting-wise but he looks JUST too old and fat for the role!! The role MUST be given to someone more younger with a better figure. I mean……Robin Hood should be given at-least slightly flattering looks..
Russell looks more like the Robin Hood in Princess of thieves.

WHY is the long rich Crowe wasting precious time

Wow. That’d be nice. He usually comes off as kindof a douche.

  15. Jenelle says:

That is nice… too bad it stemmed from a mean moment of his

  16. DonnaJ says:

I was thinking the same thing.

That is nice of him. It’s weird sometimes to think that our large expenses are just pocket change to stars. ~ Liz ~

Even an anonymous post can’t hide Captain America from his asinine, nonsensical anecdotes

  21. jetgirl says:

Very nice, he seems like that type of guy.

  22. CapturingLife says:

I think this is a planted story. He has a history of being a complete jerk and totally difficult and diva, so I think they are trying to brighten up his image a bit . ;)

  23. YAYI says:

I think his a good actor, But as a person the people that had worked with him had definitely make him sound like his a big A hole. So theres gotta be some truth to that.

  24. Artemisia says:

Personally, I think he’s getting a bit old and they would have done better with a younger, better looking actor imo.

  25. DonnaJ says:

    LOL!
