Well, it sounds like Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus are no longer likely to become sisters-in-law: Demi and Trace Cyrus (Miley’s brother) have called it quits.
"Demi is one of my good friends and I definitely became very, very
close with her in the past few months, and it’s something I really
wanted to make work. But unfortunately, we both have very busy
schedules – we’re both on tour right now," says the Metro Station
singe… "I’m always on the other side of the world and so is she, so it just seemed like something that can’t work out at this time."
However, it was an amicable split.
"We gave it a shot and that’s all you can do," says Cyrus. "Every time
I hung out with that girl or talked on the phone with her, it was
amazing. She’s someone I can totally relate to."
Yet Trace admits that age was also a factor in the split.
"But
she is a lot younger than me," Cyrus, 20, adds of Lovato, 16. "When
someone is that much younger, you’re looking for different things in
relationships. Maybe when she’s older and we’ve both matured, we’ll be
looking for the same thing and it can work out."

I think this is all so funny… about a year and a half ago I went to a concert, and Metro Station was the opening band. I had never heard of them (this was before they EVER hit it big), and after the show when my friend and I snuck back to the tour bus area in an attempt to meet the guys from the other bands, we ended up meeting Trace and a few of his friends. After talking for a while, they invited us to go out partying with them. However, being an innocent, naive freshman in college, I politely declined, so instead, he asked me for my number so that they could call us the next time they were in Los Angeles so that we could hang out.
Long story short- a year and a half ago, Trace Cyrus and I exchanged numbers. Now he’s dating (well, datED) Demi Lovato. So funny how things change!!

Am i like, the only one who thinks they’d look good together? Yeah, hes older than her, but their old enough to make their own decisions. Their both awesome, and i think they’d be great together, and hope they give it another go.
It was interesting the way the press ripped Miley apart with the whole “Justin’s too old” thing but for Demi it was apparently no big deal.

I definitely agree, and the age difference is quite a big factor, because between the ages of 16 and 20 I’m pretty sure a lot of things change.

One time Trace came to our gourmet ice cream and chocolate store in London, ON and had some of our ice cream before he played a concert right next door at the John Labatt Centre. Random, I know. I wish it had been John Mayer though because he had just put on a big concert there a little while before.
The only way I’d be able to date Trace is if we were always on opposite sides of the world. That is one seriously fug dude. Lord have mercy. He must be rockin’ in the personality department, because he’s a definite double bagger.
