Marc Anthony Becomes Partial Owner Of The Miami Dolphins

Marc Anthony and wife Jennifer Lopez held a news conference in NYC yesterday afternoon, in which Marc was introduced as a partial owner of the Miami Dolphins. The Latin singer has become a minority owner of the NFLclub, which was almost entirely bought out by New York entrepreneur Stephen Ross in January for $1 billion.
Marc tells People Mag,
“It would have probably been cheaper just to buy season tickets!”
"I'm a huge sports fan. These opportunities don't come around too often. It's quite an honor and a privilege to be able to sit here today saying that I'm a part-owner of an NFL team."
As a result, the couple is house-hunting in Miami. Oh, the life of a celebrity...Imagine being able to buy into a sports team because you are a huge fan? Amazing.
Majority stake holder Stephen revealed how Marc became involved in the team.
“We spoke for quite a while about his vision for the team and it was just intoxicating. Marc's a pretty bright guy and he has a lot of interesting ideas. We're trying to do something different and he was thinking outside the box. I thought it would be a great fit and fun to do something."
Can't wait to see what Marc brings.

What type of a say does he get in how the team runs? I don't really know anything about sports... I was more of a music/audio visual nerd in high school... lol

I'm not certain on this, but I would think that because he's a minor shareholder his say won't really count for much. Most minors aren't even allowed into boardroom meetings, but that may be different for him because of his "star status".

I guess it is kindda cool to be a fan of a team and actually being able to invest in it. I guess thats the idea to bring new point of views from real fans like marc. Lets see what difference will he make.
