Wow. I'm pretty surprised by this news!
I guess Megan Fox is at the point in her career where she feels like it's OK to turn down big time roles like the Bond girl. She was being approached to star opposite Daniel Craig in the next 007 movie, but Megan said no.
"Megan might be interested in a villainous role if it was a central
part of the movie but she is not interested in being just your usual
type of Bond girl," reveals a source close to the actress. "She did
consider an approach but she won't be doing Bond while she's so busy
with other projects. She might consider it again in a few years time."

Maybe she is making a wise move there actually because sometimes the Bond girls are there only for show and if she is trying to be taken seriously in the movie business, big IF, then turning this down does not sound that bad.

I'm sure Fox doesn't want to be typecast into the same roles all the time.. and a bond girl certainly would push that typecasting. However from what I've seen of her so far, that's pretty much all she's got..
She may as well play it up while she can. I don't imagine that she'll be around in a few years to "choose" to be a Bond girl when the role comes up again.

Being a Bond Girl doesn't require any serious acting chops. Actually, it usually just requires looking good in a bikini or spandex. Case in point, Denise Richards (Halle Berry is an exception to this rule, but even her Bond Girl character was simplistic). Megan Fox qualifies.

If you ask me, which you didn't; this is probably a stunt to get the movie heads to think and consider her as a possible choice. Making up a wacked out rumor of the interest in her not or / no YES I REALLY WANT TO BE THE NEXT BOND GIRL THEORY. This will get the ball rolling. But that is her unfortunate problem, SHE HAS AN OFF SET OF BAD THOUGHTS. SHE SPOKE VERY BADDLY ABOUT HER LAST DIRECTOR . WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD SHOOT A SHOT TO HOO BAG #1? That franchise need to retain some class, this isn't how to maintain it.

Yeah, like someone else said, I think she said no to avoid typecasting. That can really screw up an acting career because people will only see that actor/ress as one thing.

All these comments about acting ability when acting ability in movies is overrated to begin with. It is about celluloid presence for the actor and how it is used by the director. A 'good' movie actor is merely one who takes direction well. You can only tell how good an actor's acting ability is by seeing him or her on stage. Megan is no worse than many and she does have presence. Reality bites.
Being a bond girl is not a big thing. Woman like JA might like it to get out of a fake virginvegan image they have got but people like her doesn't need it...

I am not her fan but I think this is a good move . She made a name already there is not reason of her to be type cast in such young age. It will shut out other apportunites for her. She can always come back to it later.

People don't watch movies like this for acting. I don't think she is so big that she can turn down a role like this. This movie is almost guaranteed to be a hit at the box office. If she want to avoid being typecasted, she can start after this one. I hope this isn't true becasue this role is just to big to turn down.

I don't know why people think being a Bond girl is a great career move. In the past 10-15 years I don't think anybody has become famous. Halle Berry is the only one who has a major career but she was well known before getting the role. Denise Richards is on a reality show. I think a couple of others are steadily working but they aren't household names. As a fan of Bond films I'm happy Fox won't be in it. Has anybody seen her act? Plus she sounds and has the intelligence of a 12 year old girl. Sorry for offending any 12 year olds.

Really... I think it's a good choice on her part. A "Bond Girl" isn't one to take seriously, or a huge thing to be, nowadays. You know that Olga girl that was in the newer 007 films, Hitman and Max Payne? That's kinda all she'll ever be... a girl with a role in the film playing somewhat of a whore. Most of the Bond girls I don't remember. I had no idea Denise Richards was one, until I had seen a cover of the movie. And I knew Halle Berry was because I knew who she was, other than just her name. Not that Megan Fox wants or doesn't want to be taken seriously. But this is just a role that's whatever.
Might consider it in a few years...ha! She could be flipping burgers in a few years. Not a smart career decision on her part. If it's good enough for Halle Berry it's good enough for Megan Fox.

Yeah, she's stupid to turn down a role in a bond film... but damn. If she can use her current power/status to get a villain role, that's soooo much cooler. I bet she'd be a really fun villain, too. Imagine her doing the obligatory "Lecturing Bond while she gets ready to torture him to death, except she'll wait too long and he'll escape" scene? It'll rock.
I think she made a good choice. She is trying to venture into deeper movie roles..... and a "bond girl" is exactly what she doesnt want to be.

Dumb career move on her part, but I'll give her credit that at least she has ambition and is trying to think of her 'future.' I think she thinks she's a lot more talented than she actually is.
The question should be, how many actresses' careers have been helped by being a 'Bond' girl? It is obvious that the only thing it is good for is to help raise the profile of the actress. Even those who don't like Megan acknowledge she is famous enough already. The upside in other words is nothing but an unnecessary gamble.

If you want me to honest with you, Megan is one of the worst new celebs out there. I dislike everything about her, she has no real depth to her. She's not even an "ok" actress, she's beyond horrible!!! Her looks? I'll admit she's a pretty girl, but any pretty girl who is soooo full of herself as much as her, takes that all away. I can't say that I blame her. Historically being a "Bond girl" has brought promising careeers to a screeching halt. Not to mention that after Perce Brosnan left the role, there hasn't been a great James Bond. Sean Connery will go down in history as the best James Bond. Can you nmae 6 "bond Girl" actresses?
