Don't Expect Rihanna To Write Songs About Chris Brown Says Ne-Yo

Don't Expect Rihanna To Write Songs About Chris Brown Says Ne-Yo

"I’ve done some stuff for Rihanna’s (project). I didn’t really want to go there too much, because I know that’s what everybody is expecting. I don’t think there isn’t a person alive that doesn’t know what happened and what it was.

I don’t feel like it needs to be glorified. I don’t think that needs to be a song that’s sung or written.

"Chris Brown is a friend of mine, and I don’t view him as a bad guy for what happened. It was an absolute mistake, and he has some lessons to learn and some maturing to do. But I’m not gonna bash him for that. I’m not gonna turn my back on a person I call my friend because he made a mistake. (So) I can’t write the Chris Brown bash song and then turn around and look myself in the mirror."

-- Ne-Yo talking about working with Rihanna on upcoming album and not pulling from Chris Brown experience

It's good that Ne-Yo still respects him. He's one of the few that do.

And I know this isn't Rihanna's fault, but all of this drama has made me not want to hear anything from her.

Good. I don't want to hear about that episode anymore. I feel bad for what she went through but at the same time, I'm tired of hearing about it. I'm also not a fan of her or her music.

very well said. the incident has been talked about for so long that i think it's time it gets laid to rest. plus that shows that rihanna is moving on from it, so good for her! i think if she were to write a song about it it would only give chris more attention, and that's the last thing that anyone needs now

"Mature"? Neyo's attitude isn't mature. Chris didn't make "A" mistake; he made multiple mistakes. He hit her on several occasions. That should not be minimized! Standing by a friend regardless of their behavior is denial not maturity. That is why abusers continue to abuse. Silence is not going to make Chris better. In fact, it gives him the impression that what he did wasn't so bad. Would they be standing by his side if one of his blows to her head killed her? Chris got lucky this time that he didn't permanently disabled her or worse.

Glad to see her take the high road. People know what and who Chris is. There is no need to sing about it.

Good for ne-yo. There is no need to get involve in what happened with the two of them. And Rihanna just needs to move on and continue her life away from the drama. Is a cituation that hopefully she got to learn from. No one is perfect, but i definitely have no respect for what this looser did and after all the apology crap he just made himself look even more pathetic.

For either one of them to come out with a song about this would be completely immature. I am glad she won't go to that level. Everybody is tired of hearing about this. I know she wants more than anybody for people to leave it alone. Hopefully, they both keep going their separate ways. I not a big fan of their music but I think Rihanna is beautiful and I love her style. My sister listens to her constantly and dragged me to one of her concerts, which is why I know some of her songs. When I saw her in concert is when I started getting a little interested in her. She was really good that night. I also like the hair from the front, it is the back that creeps me out a little.

Fine, don't sing about it. But come on......be a freakin' man and say what Chris Brown actually did! It was not a "mistake"! A "mistake" is when you leave your cake in the oven too long and now it is ruined! A "mistake" is when you forgot to buy milk at the store! What "he" did was ABUSE A WOMAN! Not a freakin' "mistake"! Men need to come out STRONG against this type of stuff and then maybe other men will listen to them! I am so sick of the "boys will be boys" attitude, especially with these rapper types.

I just lost a little respect for Ne-Yo after this comment. A mistake? "Couldnt look at myself in the mirror?" I can understand his statement about not writing songs about it, but to go as far as saying he "couldnt bash chris and look at himself in the mirror" is pretty dang messed up. He cant bash Chris, but Chris BASHING Rhianna's face in is just a mistake? That's just bull sh*t.
