Talk about backlash! Solange Knowles' new haircut was documented yesterday afternoon despite the singer having a bald head for over 2 weeks... and boy did the public respond. It wasn't all kind and Beyonce's little sister couldn't take it anymore. She spent the entire day yesterday tweeting her frustrations.
This isn't even it all - it's just all I could fit on my screen.
What do you think about all the fuss the media is making over her hair cut? Were they talking about her beforehand? Does she have the right to be angry?

I'd get frustrated too. She has the right to be pissed off. She shaved her head two weeks ago and now seemingly the whole world is talking about how ugly or pretty she is. She's really not in the spotlight that much, so it would be annoying.

I like the way she looks, but I don't get how someone can have so much free time on their hands that they spend all day on Twitter.
Solange has so much time to tweet because she doesn't have a solo career and she desperately wants attentionto start here lagging career. She may of cut her hair a couple of weeks ago, but she paid the paps to "release" the pics to the press to garner attention and buzz.

Anytime anyone ( famous or non ) shaves their head people talk. If you dont want people to talk then dont shave your head. You have to know it will get attention. Actually, I totally agree with Solange. All of you are doing exactly what she is asking you not to do: giving her your personal opinion on her hair. Why should she care? I believe her when she says it's not a statement. Her hair has been like this for two weeks. And she makes a very good point about black women and the drama and history behind black womens' hair. She's beautiful. I actually prefer her to Beyonce. She's smart. Leave her alone people.
She's full of crap about not caring what anyone thinks of her new 'do. She loves the attention and that's why she did it. Shaving her head sets her apart from and distinguishes her from Beyonce. She will never be as successful as her sister and will always live in her shadow because she's not as talented as Beyonce. I agree with another poster that Solange is often bitchy in her comments to the media and also in interviews. She seems to have a major attitude problem.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. Not that my opinion matters, but I think it looks nice. Whatever her reasons for doing it are her own business, whether it was to make a statement, give her hair some time off, or to distinguish herself from her sister....I mean, does it even matter? I can say on a personal level I would bet the reason was to give her hair a break. I kept my head shaved for a long time for that reason....relaxers, salons, flat irons, blow dryers, all those damn chemicals.....that crap gets really old.

And if it isn't, do you know how many hours out of her life she has to spend on her hair to keep it looking like a white woman's so people will find her acceptable? I am sure you would be just as 'bitchy' as her if people was criticizing something you choose to do to your head. Long, straight hair isn't the only hair that can be beautiful. Hard to believe, I know. But, it is true. And, I can't stand when people say crap like that hairstyle or outfit is so out. Like, do you really sit around looking for what is "in" or "out?" If so, that is truly pathetic. Try doing what you want and not following what everybody think is hot or not. It is hair and it will grow back. Wasn't it half shaved? It did look bad, better now that she is just bald altogether. I shaved my hair years ago, and it was amazing how people react to you as a bald female.... I mean, its just hair (or lack of it!!) for goodness sake. I found it a very liberating and insightful experience.
Despite what many people here have said, I disagree and think she looks kinda hot! Black women can look really sexy with very short hair and I admire her for being brave enough to be different from all the other weave or perm wearing clones out there! At least she is cleancut, shapely and not all tatted up. I even think she would look good completely bald-headed as well. These same fruitcakes have given Amber Rose a hard time too. Just because you're in a "happy to b nappy" phase right now, that doesn't mean that you STOP taking care of your hair. You may not spend time in a salon, but you need to go to an excellent barber to keep the "naps" regulated. Sweetie, I need to cuss your barber slam out and so do you! I shaved my hair in January in support of a sister undergoing chemotherapy; it was a scary and in some ways a liberating feeling. I had colored my hair for years to cover the gray. It grew out in a great silver color and now I accept and own my image. I can't imagine going back to coloring, straightening, streaking anymore..it is healthy, shiny and I like it this way now. Let the woman be.
