Ginnifer Goodwin Promotes Animal Rights

Ginnifer Goodwin was spotted at the Humane Society of the United States rally to promote animal protection legislation at Capitol Hill yesterday afternoon. Ginnifer praised the efforts of the Humane Society, as their persistence sparked her interest in animal rights,
“As long as we keep sharing there will be a mass domino effect. And only good can come of that.”
Ginnifer is the newest celeb to become an animal rights activist and has given up all animal products and by-products and recently made PETA's Top 5 Vegan List.
I love to see celebrities using their celebrity status for more than just self-promotion : )

It's great than more and more celebrities are involved in animal rights protection, hopefully she's right and domino effect will work.
From the post picture i didn't realise she cut her hair short, not until i saw the thumbnails. Can't quite see it though, i need to see her eyes, then i can say if i like a new haircut.

I agree, Vera, that it is great when celebs use their fame for good. It's just a sad commentary on society that people will take more notice when a celebrity touts something than when an expert in the field does, though.

I am all for animal rights and support it fully, however, PETA has many skeletons in their closet and I dislike their organization.

I know. I really don't know what to think of PETA.

I think actually very badly of PETA because of all those incidents when they have done a lot more harm than good.

That such a rewarding thing to do. I did it for a year when I got out of college and I loved every single minute of it.

It's good to see a celeb supporting an organization that's not PETA.

I love when celebs do good. As for Peta, I love animals but I don't respect Peta at all. I fell they give people a reason not to take animal right seriously. ~ Liz ~

I have no problem with people who protest against fur as long as they're not throwing red paint, or setting up celebs to be ambushed during a lunch (like they did with Beyonce, I think). Protesting is fine, I just hate when people (like PETA) go too far. And, on a side note, I love Ginnifer's hair

Ginnifer is adorable, it must be said. And who is her man?

I like the Humane Society of the US. However, I'm not a fan of PETA. It's a HUGE joke. Has anyone here heard of the Virgina PETA shelter....?
"During all of 2008, PETA found adoptive homes for just seven pets. Just seven animals -- out of the 2,216 it took in."
Just sayin'.
I'd like to see more of them stand up for HUMANS. There are children in all sorts of predicaments...abuse, hunger, forced prostitution. I love animals, but people first.
There are more laws protecting people as opposed to animals.
What i find funny with people who don't like those that wear fur, i don't know if they wonder about countries that have weather that deal in -30, not to long again in Enland we hit some harsh weather where it was -10 now what more -30, and places where fur is what will keep them warm because countries like that are there i wonder if Peta or anything other organisation would even venture there and talk to them about being fur free.
Countries with many options can always do these thing what about countries with not too many options.

I don't like people who wear fur for status. People in poor countries who use animals for survival, well, that's different. It's one thing to kill an animal for food and necessary clothing, but different to kill them just for the thrill is not cool. The idea of breeding and raising animals just to kill them for their fur is something I disagree with. Just my opinion.
