Pink Has A Great Idea For An Anti-Fur Campaign

Pink Has A Great Idea For An Anti-Fur Campaign

"The whole animal welfare and cruelty side of wearing fur is clearly
not working because some people still insist on wearing it," says Pink.
"So I think we should have a new campaign with the message: fur makes
you look fat. That is probably the only thing these people care about
so lets go for that. You look terrible in that. It makes you gain 15 or
20 pounds. That will do the trick."

~Pink on her idea for an anti-fur campaign. LOL! LOVE her. Whether you agree with her on the anti-fur message or not, you have to admit, she's pretty hilarious. :)

Wearing ANY fur sets a standard for others to copy. If fur is no longer fashionable, no animals die. If you help to make wearing fur fashionable, you are contributing to innocent animals suffering and death. STOP WEARING ALL FUR! I think it should be mandatory for everyone in the fashion industry to watch PETA's videos of how these innocent creatures are skinned alive and suffer. Only sociopaths and those without a heart would wear fur after seeing such things.

She can also add how it makes you look old and just plain tacky. Fur is so gross and worthless. We have heat now, we aren't in the stone age. Killing animals just to wear their fur is completely uneccesary. Such action should only be allowed in tribal regions that have not progressed to the new millenium. Heck even they wear modernized western clothing now!

People will never stop buying fur. People get it because it makes them look like they have enough money to blow on something like that. People realize it's a dead animal, they just don't care.

If nature wanted us to wear fur, the evolution would have made us grow one. Looking back, it went the other way round, so I don't get why people wear other creatures' skins. Just imagine an animal wearing a human skin on top of its pelt.

Honey, without fur, we would not be here. Fur kept us warm for centuries, we passed strong winters, it wasn't a fashion statement, it was a necessity! So was eating meat, that made us strong, that kept human kind alive, proteins from meat and fur for harsh weather. I agree, today its a fashion statement and we consume more then we need, but there are still parts of the world where wearing fur is a necessity. And I agree that money is the main purpose in fur market and it has to be stopped, but you have to admit that wearing fur and eating meat, got us this far! Surviving of the fittest...that's nature

You do realize that the entire leather industry is a bi-product of the meat industry. Also, the leather industry does not even use all of the skins that are created when cows are killed for meat (this includes shoes, handbags, belts, clothing, furniture, ect). A good portion of the people who spout off about how fur is cruel eat meat....hello!!!! I do not own any high-end fur, & the last fur I bought was a rabbit coat for my daughter. If you don't like fur then don't wear it, but do not tell me that I cannot wear it just because you don't like it.

Rabbits are animals and it doesn't matter if it is 'high end' or not. Your purchase of a fur coat created great suffering for innocent animals. Your daughter did not NEED a fur coat from any animal. There are plenty of options out there beside fur from sustainable resources. Leather is slightly different in that cow flesh is also eaten while it is still cruel to cows. How many chinchillas have you eaten lately? Mink anyone? Fox? This is one of many reasons that I am vegetarian. I don't like suffering. If you choose to turn a blind eye to that fact, then you knowingly create suffering for purely selfish gain. That is an extremely immature attitude and not at all evolved. Join us in the 21st Century and where wool instead.

meeee meeee said:

You know, where I come from, we breed rabbits for food. It would be more cruel to throw rabbit furs away than to use them. And don't tell me that eating rabbits is different from eating pork, beef or chicken. I wish I would be vegetarian but I am not. Human has canine teeth for a reason. We are not born to be vegetarians!

Our digestive tracts are not meant for meat. They are far longer than that of a dog for example. Dogs have short digestive tracts so the meat does not putrify and moves quickly through the system. Meat putrifies in our long digestive tracts which causes disease because it sits there longer. Most people no longer have long pointy canines because of evolution. We no longer need to rip flesh from a freshly killed animal in order to survive. We have evolved and no longer require what cavemen did. Actually, you are born more vegetarian than anything. You are not born to eat meat. meat is one of the last things introduced to children for a reason. BTW - vegetarian does not mean not drinking milk or eating dairy - so yes kids drink milk (we were designed to drink only our mother's milk). Vegans don't eat dairy and that is different than what I am talking about. Using animal products i.e., milk and wool, is not frowned upon by most vegetarians as long as the animals are not harmed and treated well.

Well, with a mentality like yours the human kind will be dead in 3-4 generations. No proteins makes the body weak and accessible to illness. The proteins in meat you can't find them anywhere else. And our digestive system is made for meat too, otherwise we would not be here today.....get your facts straight, read more, ask a real doctor...

stupid police! stupid police! said:

hi there anonymous, how are ya? i think your post is hilarious especially since you tell this person to get their facts straight, and that "with a mentality like yours blah blah blah..." all it takes is a simple google of "complete proteins" to figure out that you absolutely can get the "proteins in meat" from other sources (ummm meat IS a protein. proteins are made of AMINO ACIDS. this is what your body needs). jesus, go read a book before you act like a complete douche on a blog.
hey smarty!
examples of non-meat COMPLETE proteins are:
1. beans and rice
2. bread and peanut butter

Yes, I agree about evolutuion. But we are evolvING and it does not happen in 100 or 200 years! It is a very long process and we are in the middle of it. People will gradually turn to vegetarism and human body will slowly adapt. In our family we do not eat meat often, we do prefer to eat more vegetables but still, meat is part of our diet. The same applies to majority of the families. There is no black and white about the subject. I am sure the vegans would have an awful lot to say about eating eggs and milk.

In 2008 it was estimated that 7.3 million people in the U.S are vegetarian. In India, 42% of the population is vegetarian. Vegetarians are evolving, thriving, getting their protein from many sources and have been for a long time. "Vegetarianism began many thousands of years ago with great minds like Pythagoras, Buddha, Plato, and Plutarch, it was not until the mid-1800s that it reached western civilization." The steak and potato mentality is a modern American one and has lead to obesity, heart disease, colon cancer, etc. "The earliest records of vegetarianism as a concept and practice amongst a significant number of people concern ancient India[2] and the ancient Greek civilization in southern Italy and in Greece." "Jain (Vedic religion) and Buddhist sources show that the principle of nonviolence towards animals was an established rule in both religions as early as the 6th century BCE." "When the famous Chinese Buddhist monk Faxian visited the Magadha region of India in the early 5th century CE, he found that people abstain from taking life. ... They do not breed pigs or poultry or sell any animal food." Before man created hunting tools they were more foragers. They ate mostly nuts, berries, fruits and vegetables. Meat was a luxury. This is not something new to homo sapiens.

I personally don't see a problem with wearing fur AS LONG AS it's used for warmth and not fashion. I don't care how technology has evolved, if you live in a freezing climate, there is nothing like a natural product (as in fur or leather) to keep you warm, the synthetics just can't compare.
