Gloria Allred Is Mad At Nadya Suleman... Again
I have mixed feelings when I read about this. Gloria Allred is upset with Nadya Suleman (a.k.a. "Octo-Mom") over a recent interview Nadya had with Us Weekly (it's in the print edition). In the interview, Nadya acknowledged regrets about giving birth to octuplets.
"I think it was a mistake -- in terms of the well-being of the
octuplets and of my other kids. I can't give myself to them 100
percent...if I'd known that, I never would have fathomed having eight
more."
Although Gloria was one of the people leading the charge questioning Nadya's ability to care for 14 children, she didn't like that comment.
"I think it's very, very sad when any mother calls her child, or in this case, eight little babies, a mistake.
"How are the babies going to feel when they grow up and read one
day, as they will, or view on the internet, as they will, the fact that
their mother calls them a mistake?" continued the lawyer.
Now, on one hand, I completely understand Gloria's concern. Perhaps Nadya's statement was poorly worded or just flat-out inappropriate.
But to me it sounded like Nadya was acknowledging that she didn't understand how hard it would be to parent all of her children, not that she doesn't love them or wishes they didn't exist.

I don't like Nadya and I think her original intentions were screwy. BUT I don't think she is saying her kids are mistakes, just the way she did it. ~ Liz ~

I agree, I think she just worded it badly. You can love your children and still acknowledge the situation isn't the best one. There's no way only one person can give herself to take care of 14 babies without breaking down at times.

I am not a fan at all of Nadya Suleman, but I think I like Gloria Allred even less. That woman makes my skin crawl. on a different note, how did Nadya lose all that pregnancy weight so soon?????? She was absolutely gigantic at 5 or 6 months. Even if she did lose the weight, what did she do with all that stretched out skin? (I apologize to those of you who might be on a lunch break)

I don't know about the skin, but taking care of 14 kids must help you lose weight.
She had a tummy tuck last month! That's why she was hospitalized. She is a miserable human being, just ask her Mother.

well it sucks that she has realized that until now. gloria is always being nosy in everything and at the same time trying to get some publicity. but i do understand what she means. why would octomom say her kids were a mistake when she knows that what she says will be printed. she just needs to concentrate on her kids and stop that reality show and all the publicity so their kids will grow up "normal."

I don't think you need to be even remotely a genius to know that having that many kids INTENTIONALLY is going to be "a challenge".
I mean...really! Is Nadya Suleman that stupid? (for lack of a better word!)

I don't know much about the world and all these controversies. So I am unbiased. But probably ignorant at the same time. And I don't know if she wanted all this attention. So maybe I shouldn't be commenting. But I don't see anything wrong with what she said. Of course she still loves her children. She made her own decision, and maybe it was a poor one. But she didn't see anything wrong with having eight more babies. Now she does, but that doesn't mean she doesn't love them. And also, I can't help imagining that everyone is going to forget about Nadya in the future. If that is the case, then the children will hopefully never see her comment. But Nadya will probably tell the octuplets about how much controversy she caused...she'll explain to them. Hopefully, she won't do the reality show. Hopefully, she won't subject the children. Let them live as normal a life as possible. That's my freakin long post. I'm back and I'm clad in plaid :)

Nadya is an idiot. Did she think bringing up that many kids without any help from a husband or partner would be easy?? I'm sure she loves her kids, but come on, even raising one child by yourself is not easy - let alone that many.

She has been doing that for 20 years. It reminds me of ambulance-chasing injury lawyers. Every time a woman needs some kind of representation, Allred is there with the press spewing some kind of victimization bu!!sh!t. She may view herself as a queen of feminist law but she comes across as a money-hungry b1tch who can't live outside of the lime light.
I don't care who she is you NEVER ever say your children are mistakes. That right there is just WRONG!!!

nadya can get all the education in the world but she is a jacka$$. she obviously will do anything to get attention even if its at the expense of her children. how sad! as a mother you try to protect your kids not sell them off to the highest reality show or magazine bidder.

ALL 14 should be REMOVED from her dubious care --and given to well-adjusted SANE parents who CAN give them 110% AS EACH DESERVES. So they do NOT grow up TO BE just LIKE their IVF incubator.

Gloria Allred is a pusillanimous, fame chasing bit*h and I wish she'd crawl into a hole and drink battery acid. Hell my son was a mistake! I was nursing a 3 month old infant and was on the pill when I got pregnant with my son. Stinking doctor had me on the wrong pill. I had NOOOOO intention of getting pregnant. I was 7 months pregnant and still nursing a 9 month old until my milk turned back to colostrom and my daughter decided to ween herself. Felt like I was being eaten from the inside and had the life being sucked out of me from the outisde! But I wouldn't trade him for the world. He was a preemie, 3.5 lbs at birth, and we had to fight to keep him here. I do not REGRET my son. He has a purpose and is a total blessing, all be it by SURPRISE!

KIDS AT RISK/karenlee This certainly is not the worst depression ever. You must be uneducated or have forgotten what you learned in history. We are having tough times but is no where close to the great depression and let's hope it doesn't get there.
actually her kids would have bank accounts of their own of which she would not be able to touch, maybe she is trying to get a reality show ,as that is her only hope of being able to support her children and provide them a future. Although she a ridiculously sad parent, at least there is one thing she is doing that might help them and not teach them to live off of taxpayers. As for her quote it sounds like she is saying she realizes it is hard.
oh and by the way, do you not read ALL the rags and Blogs??? Are you completely oblivious and blind to not read about/see celebs./rich people out shopping everyday?
