Sharon Osbourne believes she is successful because she is “short, fat and hairy”.
The TV star – who began her career as a rock manager – worked a lot harder to have a thriving career because of her imperfections.
Sharon – who has undergone multiple cosmetic procedures to improve her looks – told Psychologies magazine:
“My achievements are down to my looks, or lack of them. I’m not putting myself down, that’s the truth. Being short, fat and hairy means you have to develop a brain and personality and be fun and smart and learn to get on with people and make deals.”
So beautiful people don’t have to be smart of funny? Life just gets handed to them???
And could her achievments had just a tiny bit to do with the fact that she is MARRIED TO OZZY? Sharon did have a beginning though right? She says it was hard even in the 70s when she was a manager in the music biz.
“In the music business in the 70s, girls were beautiful. You were a performer, or you could be a girlfriend or groupie, but you still had to look good. I didn’t have the face or the body that opens doors.
“I didn’t have any talent, either, and I left school with barely a single qualification. If I’d been pretty my life would probably have been very different. Not being beautiful was an education.”
After ‘The Osbournes’, Sharon went on to become a popular judge on British TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ from 2004 to 2007 and since then has been a member of the judging panel on ‘America’s Got Talent’.
She has written two autobiographies and is now writing her first novel, entitled ‘Revenge’.
What do you think about Sharon’s thoughts on beauty?

What Sharon did not address/SAY is that it’s STILL BEAUTY that got her made, that is…..$250,000 worth of plastic surgery facial overhaul, GASTRIC BYPASS, AND BULIMIC. That smartness that ugly people should have, which Sharon was talking about is……MONEY AND CONNECTIONS, well, in her own case anyway. I just wish celebs will STFU AND BE REAL.
She has ALWAYS been very open about all of the procedures she had, most of whichs he had later in her adult life (not in her 20s) You are reading a quote or two here on this site without any context. So, I wish you would STFU and sit down.
Lol! I love her no matter what she looks like.
i’m actually reading her book now, her father was a true piece of work.
I disagree with Sharon Osborn
First off, her father was what brought her into the music industry and how she met Ozzy because her dad was the bands manager. So it wasn’t her well developed personality that got her anywhere.
I don’t believe that very beautiful people have it easier than everybody else. In fact I believe that extremelly good looking people have to prove themselves more when it comes to just about everything. Lets face it–People are jealous or annoyed with people who are really good looking- and always thinking they have it easier. Which isn’t the true. But they already have pre conceived notions about the person before they even say a word. Think about it, Who’s running the entertainment business–certainly they are not all beautiful people, so you really think they’d just pick someone who’s really good looking over someone who was pretty enough and has more talent?? Maybe, only if they’re willing to take off their clothes or have sex with the producer/directer, but that rarely happens anymore. That’s why the golden area of cinema had more beauties in roles than there are now.. I remember reading an article where Michelle Pheifer complained of having to have to prove herself that much more as an actress because of her great looks. Which isn’t really fair.
But in order to make it in any business being very beautiful can be a deterrent more than it can help. I actually think that being just attractive or pretty is a person’s best bet for a happy sucessful life.
“Not being beautiful was an education”…..does that explain why her kids haven’t gone to college?
Incredibly beautiful people do have an edge over regular looking people; she thinks things come by easier if you are very beautiful. I guess according to Sharon, beautiful people don’t have to work too hard to get what they want. I agree with her on that point, but I don’t think life is always perfect for them.———-

true but “beautiful” people get away with more. do you think anyone would care two turds about whatever dribbled out of megan fox’s mouth if she didn’t look the way she does? fame and money and looks…. there is always some idiot who will think that matters. but i am willing to bet if she wasn’t as attractive she would be a nobody.
(btw: i don’t care for her at all, just using the exsample)
Sharon’s father was very, very well to do in the music industry (which is how she got her start). When Sharon met Ozzy and fell in love with him, her father freaked out and told her that she would be disinherited if she married him…and marry him she did. There is no question that she had to work hard for her career (she backed Ozzy when no one would after he left Sabbath), however, I don’t believe that just because you’re ugly you have to be smart. I know plenty of ugly people who are complete morons and plenty of beautiful people that are brilliant.
YOu say you know plenty of ugly people who are complete morons and plenty of beautiful people who are brilliant, but I think the point she is trying to make is that if you are ugly and want to be successful, you have to be smart. No?
you’re naive to believe that beautiful people don’t have it easier….there are plenty of studies showing that employers treat more attractive people better than less attractive ones. THere is also research suggesting that the attractiveness is related to easier sentencing in courts, and certainly more attractive people are more likely to be hired for job (even when more qualified applicants apply). BUT, I don’t think Sharon Osbourne is SO unattractive that she has to worry about that – she is very average looking! It’s great that she has brains (ahem…), but nobody would ever hold her looks against her, she doesn’t stick out from the crowd at all IMO.
I think she is actaully very attractive now, but when she was in her 20s she didnt exactly look like she does now… with the benefit of 7 or 8 plastic surgery procedures
Unlike Megan Fox.. Hm.
i always had admiration for her !!! she handled ozzy’s career very very well .he could have drown in drugs (ok he did for awhile) but she got him back on his feet and look at what he accomplish … damn i just burned my kid grill cheese ;(
LOL!—-

lol I dyed my hair to look like hers
I know off topic but you guys are pretty much making good points
show us a pic
I love Sharon….she does have a good point to a certain extent. Some things do come easier to people who have an appealing look. If you are unappealling….it takes more personality to acheive acceptance with other people. This is the way society has made things, everyone judges from first impressions whether they are good or bad. —em’s
So we are not accumulating any?
I think we’re still earning them. Does it matter though? What do we get for these points anyway??
Well it’s nice to see numbers growing at least here
Ill try, just that I cant load pics at work
Gisela you are funny!!!! I like Sharon Osbourne. She is very congenial and down to earth. I believe her personality has a lot to do with her success.
