Screenwriter For Time Traveler's Wife Had Brad Pitt And Jennifer Aniston In Mind When Writing The Script
Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were being lined up to star in the ‘Time Traveler's Wife’ – before their split.
The former couple – who separated in January 2005 before finalizing their divorce in October 2005 – would have been ideal for the lead roles of Chicago librarian Henry DeTamble and his love interest Clare Abshire, according to screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin.
“I thought Brad and Jennifer would be perfect for this film. I just saw them as a perfect version of Henry and Clare. I just found them equally attractive and equally compelling and in terms of the Hollywood arena at that time, they were as good a couple as you could find.
"I was writing it in my mind for them."
The movie is based on the 2003 book of the same name by Audrey Niffenegger which follows Henry as he discovers he has a genetic disorder which enables him to travel through time when stressed.
The starring roles eventually went to Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams, and Bruce admits the pair have done a brilliant job of bringing the characters and story to life on the big screen.
“They are wonderful embodiments of who I envisioned would be on the screen.”
I am a sucker for Rachel McAdams - anything she does is just wonderful! Brad and Jen obviously didn't pan out for Bruce. Can you think of another couple who would have done better?

I read about that ages ago. When Brad and Jen were together they had a film production company together called Plan B. I think they were producing the film or had bought the rights or something to the film.

To me he looks uneasy now, like he has something to prove or he feels the need to constantly explain himself. Why tell people over and over in every interview how happy you are? How you found your soul mate...OK great, which is just awesome. I don't think he needs to explain himself to the world. Sounds to me like he feels a little guilty about something, I could be wrong, nevertheless; is great he has found whatever it is he was looking for. ---------

this is not the first role that she got over Jen.
Jen is pretty much hating her guts right now.
everytime she auditions for a role or tries going for a role the minute rachel shows up she loses it to her.
that may be that rachel is the better actress and shows more emotion and chemistry between her stars while Jen tends to give a flat performance and lacks the chemistry with her stars

That's not really surprising news, since Pitt and Aniston's Plan B company bought the rights to this book before it was even published.
If they would have done the movie together as a married couple, it would've been awesome. I'm sure Rachel and Eric do the movie justice too. I can't get over how great Jennifer and Brad looked together back then; they did complement each other, and Brad looked so different then....I'll just leave it at that.-------

As someone who has read the book and loves it dearly, they don't fit the characters at all. Aniston as Clare makes my brain want to explode and I can't imagine Pitt as Henry. The sarcasm and witt that Henry has, yes, he can do that, but he's not wirey enough to be Henry. He's all limbs and muscles. And it sounds silly but their hair...the hair is so important to the characters, his black hair, her long beautiful red hair...just a world of no.
I look forward to seeing Rachel because I don't think she can do any wrong but I am still on the fence about Bana. I hope the movie doesn't disappoint...
Cillian Murphy would have been a better fit for the role.
I could watch him forever and would probably.
plus I like the chemistry Cillian and Rachel had in Red Eye.

i really like rachel's movies. i think she'll do a great job. can't wait to see this movie!
ugh angelina could never be clare! but whoever said that was probably kidding. brad and jen were such a better couple imo, and he does look awful these days.
I do not picture them as Clare and Henry at all! They do not fit the character descriptions and I dont think Jen could act out Clare's emotions/frustrations well. They did a great casting job with Rachel and Eric. I wish they casted the daughter differently though. The little girl in the trailer is not how I pictured Alba at all!!!
I also highly recommend the book for those who have not read it. it was very well written and such a great story.

As boring as I find Jen, I can't help but notice that Brad looked alot happier in photos with her than in any photos of him with Ange.... Maybe they where just stoned together all the time lol
Brad is with his soul mate. He could use botox and airburshed his all magazine covers like basically almost everybody. He would look young. He doesn't care. He is where he wants to be. accept it.
charlize theron and Stuart Townsend would have been so hot in this movie.
