Comedian Dane Cook presented the Choice Hottie award at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday. Before he presented the award, he made a joke at Vanessa Hudgens’ expense (more nude photos of the Disney star surfaced last week of her talking on the phone topless).
Dane joked, “Vanessa Hudgens, girl, you got to keep your clothes on! Phones are for phone calls, girls!” and was booed by the audience in response.
Vanessa herself was sitting in the audience.
Dane isn’t backing down, however, and defended his joke.
“I planned it about 20 minutes before I went out there. (I said it) because I like to be on the cusp of fear.
“Mostly I just wanted it to be funny. That’s the best part about being a comic, when you go, ‘Maybe I can say the thing that everybody is kind of feeling and nobody (is saying).’ The elephant-in-the-room (awkward) moment. So, I’ll take it, I’ll take the hit. It’s okay.”
Dane’s cook was cut from the telecast, but TMZ has the footage here.

I thought it was hilarious. It’s her fault for taking so many nude pictures of herself. She’s a celebrity and there’s a price to pay for fame… nothing is private.
