Someone Tried To Sell Joel Madden… A Baby

This story is making me cringe and cry all at the same time. I cannot believe some little child is going through this right now.

Joel Madden was horrified when strangers tried to sell him a baby.
The Good Charlotte rocker was rendered speechless when he was offered a
human child in return for money. He
wrote on Twitter:

"Today some people in traffic tried to sell me a
baby. A live human baby. I didn’t know what to say. I said a little prayer
for the kid. wow

"It all happened so fast. I was trying to figure out if they were serious,
and i think when my reaction was not a good one, they just took off (sic)."

What would you do if someone tried to do this? I would absolutely 100% purchase the baby and then run right to the police. I mean, how utterly discusting that a human would DO THIS.

I actually knew a person who did sell their baby for money for drugs. Luckily they “sold” their baby to a nice lady who immediately took it to the police dept. It was a sad sad day when I heard about this event. People are so screwed up.

    sickening!

  3. bgduckie_01 says:

that’s pretty crazy. i would probably be shocked too and not know if they are serious or joking. pretty sad for the kid :(

  4. Stating the Obvious says:

Spell check is an amazing feature, so is spelling it “discusting.” Ah, the American education system.

  5. elaine123 says:

Grammar is not a bad tool either…use it.

  7. merce369 says:

Disgusting!!! he should’ve taken the plate number

  8. Anonymous says:

    yeah, unfortunately, I don’t think it was a typo…

  9. C. says:

The spelling, grammar and typo criticism is getting really old. Does it really make you feel superior? Or is it just easier than having to think of something relevant to say? Either way it makes you look petty.

  10. meeeeeeeeee says:

I don’t think these people were in the car. Probably when he was at the traffic jam or at the lights or something like that they were walking around knocking into the car windows. They could not have conversation while driving! So probably was not number plate to take.

  11. elaine123 says:

Why are you so obsessed with what I have to say, “C”? I’m flattered, but seriously, go find someone else to stalk. It’s getting old. As to my comment on the grammar, I think it was very appropriate, if not witty, given that the person, while criticizing someone else’s spelling, couldn’t write a sentence correctly to save his/her life. Buzz off…

    Ha??? So sick!!

  13. C. says:

Don’t flatter yourself. I post all over this site. It’s funny that when someone says something to you it’s stalking but your many nasty posts, swearing and name calling is what? I’ll say what I like, when and to whom I like. You are NOT witty. You ARE petty and mean spirited.

  14. elaine123 says:

I hope he went to the police, not that there’s much they could have done after the fact.

  15. Anonymous says:

the thing to do would be to get the license plate number. he was probably too shocked to think it.

“discusting”, Vera? really? come on, are you 12? pull out your dictionary.

  16. Jan says:

Im guessing if they were selling their baby they were probably not driving a car. Its interesting to see what people assume from articles.

  17. hunt111 says:

Oh good grief, can’t the woman make a typo every once in awhile? AH

  18. Manimal says:

Ha ha ha ha ha, “discusting.” Simple spell check and a quick glance over your writing will help you find these things. While the awesome anonymous people have no balls (hiding behind internet nonymity) and say it way harsher than necessary, it gave me a laugh for something that could be fixed easily enough. Chances are it wasn’t Vera and was one of her writers instead.

  19. luckystar says:

You would buy the baby?! That’s a bit wrong isn’t it?? I would report it straight away…

  20. Manimal says:

She’s saying she’d buy it to take it to the police, because it’s obviously better off with someone that’s NOT trying to sell it.

  21. Gisela says:

He Twittered? Shouldn’t he report this to the authorities, instead of running to post it on Twitter? f*cking celebs make me sick———–

The thing is if you looked at the timeline and it said he posted around (i think) midnight , 1am which makes me think it happened earlier in day. Maybe he should have been more specific as when it went down?

Either, sell a baby? If they didn’t want the baby (assuming they’re the parents) they could have given up the baby for adoption.

  23. DonnaJ says:

I gotta jump on the band wagon here…”discusting “? Wow.

Sadly, this world is full of terrible things and terrible people. They probably needed drug money.

  24. Anonymous says:

“purchasing” the baby would only encourage them to sell more babies. i would try to fins out who are those people and of course report to the police.

  25. elaine123 says:

Madden’s quote says that he was in traffic when it happened. Not a leap to assume that the baby-sellers were in a car.

  26. elaine123 says:

Where do you see anyting about a timeline

  27. Anonymous says:

oops sorry! When i was talking about the timeline, I was talking about the one on twitter. Well, i have to soustract 3 hrs – since i live on the east coast – if i want to know when a celeb living in LA tweeted.

    Hope I clarified!

  28. emches says:

People never cease to amaze me!!!—em’s

  29. luckystar says:

Yes, I know that. However, if she were to do that she would get arrested for buying a baby!
