Alicia Silverstone Likes To Garden Naked

Remember all the heat Alicia Silverstone took way back in the day when she gained a few pounds? She responded to the criticism by adopting a vegan diet. The benefits of her vegan diet were far more than weight loss.

"You can hear your needs and desires more clearly," she reveals.
"You’re just more juicy-there’s just this lightness that happens. It’s weird to be 32 now and feel and look younger… Right after I first made the switch to a plant-based diet, people were literally telling me, ‘What have you done? You’re sparkling.’ "

Alicia also credits her vegan lifestyle with keeping her "more in tune with her needs and desires." As a matter of fact, she’s so comfortable with herself, she even gardens naked, telling Health Magazine.

"this is my body, it’s not some scary thing."

Now that’s some comfort with yourself! But Alicia made it clear that she won’t do nudity for a movie, so it sounds like she still values her privacy :)

Alicia was so inspired by her vegan lifestyle that she wrote a book, ‘The Kind Diet,’ that comes out next month. Then she’s coming out with a line of eco-friendly beauty products, including make-up bags and brushes by EcoTools. They’re cruelty free and made from recycled materials, bamboo, and hemp.

You can read Alicia’s entire interview in the September issue of Health, which hits newsstands August 25.

this article made me want to have a cheeseburger and buy some leather shoes!!!

Celebrity opinions = holier than thou!

  2. Rita says:

Agree with the last comment! Except for the leather shoes lol! I love meat and I’d rather giving up vegs and fruits than meat! Sorry only my humble opinion!

I don’t think she looks that fabulous (when she touts her vegan lifestyle). Her skin is terrible.

I wish she would come out with some more movies – I’ve always liked her since Clueless. I’m a pescatarian and it although I still eat fish, dairy, and eggs I do feel better not eating poultry, gelatin, cow and pig. I did go without fish for a while but I could not so that for very long. I wish I could go vegan but I don’t have the willpower!

ewwww the idea of gardening naked is gross. there’s dirt, worms, bugs that i don’t need in any of my cracks or crevices.

  8. DonnaJ says:

    I totally agree.

  9. elaine123 says:

  10. suffy_78 says:

here here.Imagine the amount of time you need to spend in the shower afterwards

  11. CereliaF says:

Yes, Vegan diet is the the best/only way to go.

  12. DonnaJ says:

Perhaps for some, but certainly not for all.

  13. laurnicorn says:

I’m certainly a lover of vegetarian diets, but I can’t quite make it to full vegan. Soy “cheeze” is just horrible. :(

  14. Anonymous says:

Mmmmmm – wouldn’t mind seeing that!

  15. meme says:

  20. YAYI says:

She looks amazing in this pics. Love her!!

  21. meme says:

Blame Alicia. She started it! LOL

  22. elaine123 says:

I think it was the idea of worms and bugs and cracks that sent me over the edge. Until then, I was just thinking of nice breezes and flowers and luscious green grass.

  23. meme says:

I am NEVER giving up cheeseburgers, lobster or steak. NEVER.

  24. CereliaF says:

As far as health is concerned it’s one of the best ways to go. Due to personal conflicts no, not the best for all. A vegan diet does wonders, though…especially for the animals.

  25. CereliaF says:

I don’t get why decaying meat even sounds good?

  26. elaine123 says:

“decaying” meat doesn’t sound good at all, but a juicy medium rare ribeye steak makes my mouth water.

  27. Wonder_Woman says:

Wow, she looks great and love the dress. I dont think I would be able to be a vegan, i wish I could, but to be realistic, it would be too much of a dramatic change

  28. laurnicorn says:

You’d be surprised! There is a vegan, or at least vegetarian, version of just about everything. I just found vegan marshmallows and made vegan rice krispie treats!

  29. Tanis says:

    gardening naked? Why? stupid.
