Parker Posey Diagnosed With Lyme Disease

Oh no! How terrible! Parker Posey has been diagnosed with Lyme Disease. The 40-year-old actress had to pull out of the Off-Broadway show ‘This’ because of the illness. Parker was due to play the lead.

In case you aren’t familiar with Lyme Disease:

As Lifechanger Dr. Dorian explained, Lyme Disease is a treatable tick-borne illness, with a range of symptoms. In the early stages, those infected experience flu-like symptoms and a rash .

As it progresses and goes untreated, patients can develop severe and chronic symptoms that affect many parts of the body, including the brain, nerves, eyes, joints and heart.

I have lyme disease that went several years untreated because none of my doctors could figure out what it was… and then it was too late, the damage has been permanent. Definitely will be thinking of Parker and hope she gets it repaired quickly. It’s not something I wish on anybody.

I read a blind item yesterday that said some actress had to drop out of a commitment because of — (I would rather not say). Have no idea if this is her or not. Just thought this was a coincidence. The reason was not illness.

This is a terrible thing. I hope she gets the treatment she needs and can manage to control this and get better. You’re in my prayers Ms. Posey

Sorry to hear this about Parker Posey. I’m a ‘lymie’ too, but have been able to keep in control. Of course you have good days and bad, but it can be controlled. Best of luck to her. (singer Darryl Hall has it too)

So sorry to hear about this! I also have Lyme disease that is now chronic because it went undiagnosed for so long. It is imperitive that she sees a doctor experienced in treating Lyme. Sending prayers your way Parker!

Want to add that there are several other famous people with Lyme – Daryl Hall, Amy Tan and Rebecca Wells also suffer from the chronic form of the disease. Lyme disease is the fastest growing infectious disease in the U.S. – it has now surpassed AIDS…

I was treating myself with the 72 hour Salt/Vit C regimen before I had lab tests done. So no doctor diagnosis of Lyme yet. The first test was negative, I will be tested again in a few weeks and am hoping for a negative result again because of the treatment. The first day of the treatment I felt bad – perhaps expected – but it is not an unusual amount of Vitamin C for me, I take quite bit normally, so I knew it wasn’t the treatment causing the ill feelings. But after the first of the 3 days, I felt MUCH better. Joint pain and muscle soreness began to go away, sore throat stopped recurring, and rash (general, no bulls eye) disappeared. Headaches came and went for a week, but are now gone. I don’t think I had been bitten by a tick, but I did get several mosquito bites while on Fire Island, Long Island approximately 18 days before the symptoms showed up.

    Hi Quick Cash,
I just read your post and you mentioned about you got bit by several mosquitos, have you been tested for the West Nile Virus? Because some mosquitos do carry it and can spread it to humans.
