"God Bless America" is a lovely and patriotic song but it is not the National Anthem. We have done several google searches on this question and the best advice seems to be that hats should only be removed for that song and for the Pledge of Allegiance, and that removing your hat for "God Bless America" is disrespectful to the National Anthem. Perhaps Clarkson is more patriotic and traditional than others here are suggesting. There is tremendous peer pressure to remove your hat for this other song. Notice however, that the Yankees play God Bless America during the seventh inning stretch and if you listen carefully you will note that the announcer does not instruct that "gentlemen remove their hats" as he does when introducing the National Anthem.

It's nice that there are still some things to which men will take off their hats.

she sounds great.
I grew up on the ball field and men always take their hats off and women do not. Women are ladies and the same rules don't apply.
Phff.. None.
Go ANGELS!
