Fantastic Four Is Being Remade… Already???

DO OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember waaaayyyy back in 2005 when we were all walking 6 miles to the market in a foot of snow to buy a carton of milk that cost 5 cents? Try (if you can) to remember a movie called ‘Fantastic Four’ starring Jessica Alba and Chris Evans. I know! I know! It was such a long time ago – I’m really asking too much of you.

Well, it’s being remade.

A movie that came out in 2005 is being remade. The sequel came out in 2007 and the series is being remade – with a new cast and a new storyline.

20th Century Fox is the latest studio to start the process of overhauling one of its big Marvel Entertainment franchises, “Fantastic Four,” which has already hatched two films. The studio has hired Akiva Goldsman to oversee the re-boot as producer.

New script will be written by Michael Green, the “Heroes” co-executive producer who co-wrote “Green Lantern,” the Martin Campbell-directed Warner Bros. film that will star Ryan Reynolds.

Do you hear what I am saying? How insane is this?!I wonder what Jessica thinks?!

Just as I was happy they remade the Hulk RIGHT, I’m happy they’ll take this on again. It was done no justice the first time around.

  2. Anonymous says:

Somebody please come up with an original idea. This acceptance of mediocrity is nauseating.

  3. Ariel says:

My inner comic book geek would like to ask if we can please have a real blonde for the role of Sue Storm this time? It’s not that I don’t love my fellow denizens of Browntown, but seeing Alba in that role was disconcerting.

  4. Ariel says:

This line of thinking is right up there with calling a celebrity a chunker when we can’t see if you’re chunkier still.

Post one of these so-called original ideas of your own, otherwise zip it.

im not surprise about the remake but i also think they’re doing it too soon.

    Maybe it’s time to read a book : )

  7. Nimbus says:

Remakes are so lame…. has no one got any fresh ideas in Hollywood then???

  8. Chelle says:

Never seen the original and will not see the remake.

  9. Manimal says:

It’s not unheard of. Marvel did it recently with The Incredible Hulk. It turned out fine. I don’t get what the big deal is.

  10. Marianne LaBeouf says:

I think its crazy too. Although they remade the hulk, I don’t think it was anything better, looked just as lame. Besides…how about a an ORIGINAL idea already, seriously.

How Hard can that be…..to think of something brand new, no more book adaptations, no more endless sequels, no more re-makes.

  11. Manimal says:

That’s much, much harder than you think it is. EVERYTHING has been done before, practically. And the new Hulk, with Edward Norton, was much better than the Ang Lee version.

  12. goldilockz says:

When do we get to read all of the original screenplays you have written since you think it is just stho easthy to come up with new material? I’m waiting! :-D

  13. Ariel says:

What kind of an original idea? Maybe a romantic comedy involving two lovers who have the world, or at least their families against their union? An earth at the brink of destruction dependent on a few goodhearted to save mankind?

It’s all been done, unless you’re managing to hold out on us.

  14. dyinggiraffe says:

gosh i mean, the original was just flawless why would they even dare touch it!!!!

  15. DonnaJ says:

    LOL!

  16. petitlardons says:

Maybe it’s just a project so we will not see it before a couple years.

  17. OutInLeftField says:

I say go ahead and do it. A reboot couldn’t possibly be any worse than the original.

  18. DonnaJ says:

    Too true.

  19. shardraco says:

if Ryan Reynolds is in it.. I’ll fully support it!!

  20. Ariel says:

If Ryan Reynolds is in it shirtless, I’m all for it times infinity.

  21. dieselchicklett says:

Didn’t care for the original-probably won’t care for the remake either..

  22. Gisela says:

They HAVE to do a remake, Jessica’s acting ruined the whole movie.

  23. Nanea says:

ITA, it can only get better if she’s not a part of the cast.

  24. Ariel says:

Actually, her mere presence ruined it for me.

  25. switchstance5 says:

Are you serious?! It’s not even a classic. These remakes are getting to be a little bit ridiculous. I want to see something new!
