Cate Blanchett Suffers Head Injury During A Live Performance

Oh my goodness! Cate Blanchett was performing onstage in an Australian production of ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ when she was hit in the head by a prop.

"There was a minor incident on stage that unfortunately did injure
Cate," he said. "…There was a moment when another actor lifted the prop
above his head and she somehow sustained a minor blow to the head."

Cate reportedly wasn’t taken to the hospital, although it sounds like it wasn’t minor, according to an eyewitness account.

An audience member tells the Sydney Morning Herald that "she had blood streaming down the back of her head and blood on the back of her neck."

"She acted for about another 30 seconds, then ran into what we thought
was the next scene, but before we knew it the lights were turned on and
we were told there were technical difficulties and everyone had to
evacuate the Sydney Theatre Company."

Although they stopped last night’s performance, a theatre spokesman said Cate is expected back onstage tonight. Sounds scary, but I’m glad it wasn’t more serious!
