Daniel Radcliffe Doesn’t Understand The Public’s Obsession With Pseudo Celebs

Daniel Radcliffe can’t understand why the public is interested in people who are in the industry just to be famous. He specifically targets Jordan and her ex Peter Andre… but I am sure we can think of a few American celebs that fall in this category.

He is quoted by Britain’s Daily Star newspaper as saying:

“I hate celebrity culture but I’m unavoidably part of it. These people are celebrities as a by-product of what they do.
“People read every little thing about Peter Andre and Jordan and I couldn’t care less.

“They don’t want to work, have no interests, no passions, nothing and yet they seem to be held up on pedestals.
“I don’t think they should be trying to push themselves onto us. It does annoy me of course, but I’m part of it.”

What do you think about what Daniel is saying? Has the public become too crazed over reality television stars and socialites? Is there any turning back at this point?

I 100% agree. And, don’t forget Heidi, Spencer, Kim and all her sisters, Lauren, Audrina, Brody, Kate, Jon and the lastest piece of trash, Amber Rose. The last one is the one that I just can’t wrap my brain around. She is/was a stripper that is dating Kanye West. So, now going on a reality show isn’t the only thing that can make you famous but also dating someone famous. Ugh, I just wish she would go away right along with the rest. These pseudo celebs are driving me crazy. I think they get talked about more than the actual celebs.

First of all, what is up with that crazy ass smile AND he should consider bleaching. But, I agree with his quote, very true!

  3. Jan says:

Does he have allergies or something? Why are his eyelids so red?

  4. audrey says:

What annoys me on top of what he said is when a tragedy happens, like a death of someone famous, everyone waits with baited breath for statements from these people be it Twitter or a sound bite the paparazzi have sold to TMZ or Entertainment Tonight.

  5. Helen says:

We gotta have people we love (like him) and people we love to hate (like Speidi)

  6. bgduckie_01 says:

he is right. some of these “celebrities” have been raised spoiled and havent worked as hard to be where they are. some dont even have talent and they are still famous…for what? dont know (ex: kardashians, the hills ppl, paris hilton).
i think he’s in a different category because he has actually worked hard to be where he is and just the fact that he doesnt let fame get to his head.

  7. Ladylala says:

I agree with him – but the crazy eyes are scaring me!

  8. goldilockz says:

I concur. At least he has done something to be looked up to for.

  9. MollyS says:

He is looking like Kirk Cammeron! Fireproof? Anyhoo – why does he have on red eyeshadow?

    HeHeHe!

  10. Ariel says:

I agree with him. I think the only way to turn this back is if society puts itself through a huge overhaul and agrees to no longer acknowledge such pseudo-celebrities.

I totally agree. Dan is a very wise young man. :)

  12. elvisax says:

He’s right but his eyes, yeah, what’s going on?

  13. Newstude says:

    agreed

  14. Lizzypoo says:

    Totally true. ~ Liz ~

  15. Nimbus says:

He’s hit it on the head… But who would we laugh and b!tch about if all ‘celebrities’ where actually serious…. We NEED those knobs to scoff at.

  16. Chelle says:

    So true.

  17. anniedawg25 says:

    I agree with him!!!! ***annie***

  18. Cleopatra says:

    True …100% true

  19. Manimal says:

He looks like he just saw a schoolbus full of children with young, ripe brains ready to be eaten in the banner picture. ZOMBIE.

  20. Wonder_Woman says:

I know, when I first saw his pic it creeped me out. I was thinking more 28 weeks later type of zombie thing.

  21. elaine123 says:

    Manimal, that was great.

  22. OutInLeftField says:

    I totally agree with him.

  23. kimmytoo says:

his eyes are freaky looking in the first picture.

  24. Gisela says:

Kim Kardashian is a great example she actually has fans. People praise this worthless bitch. They post how great she is, how much they love and admire her. People who worship pseudo celebs like Kim are just trying to give meaning to their boring insignificant little world. Vera you are part of it, (sorry to say)when you post stories on Kim and her family you are giving her the status she never earned.

  25. Anonymous says:

I agree. Paris Hilton too. I suppose somebody is going to be famous, but could we make it somebody with talent?

  26. meme says:

add parisite hilton, spiedie (you know who i mean), all the hills people, the list goes on and on. i don’t understand the mentality of people who follow faux celebs.

  27. Ariel says:

The rest of us a part of it when we post comments requesting that she stop running that sort of thing.

  28. Savage says:

I agree. Why does he always look like he’s sick? His face is always random shades of red, and his eyes always have discoloration around them. Makes me wonder, ya know?

  29. Nimbus says:

    He’s english…..

  30. DonnaJ says:

He’s sooooo right! But damn, he looks like Johnny Depp when he did Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

  31. Ariel says:

He actually reminds me of the Mad Hatter in the main picture.

…counting the steps to the door of my heart…

  32. Riviera says:

He says he’s part of that culture, but I disagree. He’s a working actor not whoring himself out like those people he’s talking about. That’s the big difference. Lindsay Lohan is another one of those useless twats. Instead of focusing on acting jobs, she’d rather pose for the paps and party. She’s more concerned with being a celebrity than being an actor.

  33. Ariel says:

I feel sorry for Lindsay and her ilk. Look at her parents. Does a kid like Lindsay honestly have a good chance at anything resembling normalcy when those are the people you depend on?
