What a breathtakingly stupid sentiment. Everything is personal to someone. I'm sure Charles Manson had "personal" reasons for being a murderous nutjob. Obviously this person with this stupid tattoo is not hurting anyone else, let alone doing something evil, but there is simply no good reason why anyone is obligated to think it was an intelligent decision. Or even that it's an attractive tattoo.
I think a person must have a very low opinion of their own mental capacity if they think they might forget about someone important to them unless they get that person's face or name tattooed on their body. And I think a person must be emotionally very stunted if they think it is healthy to make such permanent decisions about things that are important to them at such a young age. To think that the things and people that are massively important to you at any one time will be equally important when you are 55 years old, 75 years old, 85 years old, etc., is just bizarre and stubborn. You wouldn't plan to wear the same outfit for the rest of your life until your dying day, so why plan to wear the same gigantic face on your body?
...and i suppose you'll stop caring about everything you once loved when you get old, automatically? i think you must be emotionally stunted if you can't fathom holding something so dear for the rest of your life that you could be symbolically joined with it via physical expression. i assume you don't approve of marriage in any form because only the psychologically crippled would tie themselves to another for the rest of their life? it's far more reasonable to get a stupid picture permanently inked on your flesh than it is to vow, even in your 30s or 40s, to stay with another human being who will certainly change and evolve and maybe become someone very different than they were. you're an ignorant, judgmental twat. you have no reasoning to back you up, so shut TFU and stop pretending your opinion matters.

They're not my favorite (Cause they normally go horribly wrong, although this one looks pretty nice to me) but this is someone close to him who died, not something light and fluffy. Go bitch at the people who get tattoos of nazi unicorns.

He's "famous' for being a DJ. He's dated a bunch of celebs and he survived a plane crash. I never heard of him before dating Nicole Richie, but I can't name any other famous DJ other than Ronson (obvi because of her relationship with Lindsay).

The tatoo artist is clearly very talented, however his face is not quite right. I don't think I'd have recognized him without the name.
It's a very nice tribute to him though. Sad that he went through a tragic accident, survived, but then fell to drugs. I can't imagine the pressure in Hollywood to be popular.

Didn't he die of a drug overdose? Why is everyone tribulizing him? He needed help, he died of a drug overdose. I like the poster's idea of helping out people who have drug problems is a much better tribute than tattooing his face. I think I just made up a word, tribulizing.

the tattoo artist did a fantastic job! As far the person who got the tattoo is an idiot. DJ AM was a crack head. Why the hell do we celebrate drug addicts? Makes no sense. If he was such a great person why did he kill himself? He would of thought about all the people that he's hurting.

I agree, that's an insensitive remark, BUT, I have to admit that we (society) should not glorify or celebrate drug addicts. Celebrate his life because of all the good things he may have done and remember him for that.

I don't see this as celebrating a drug addict. Maybe the person who got the tattoo was a close friend. Maybe this is how he chose to remember DJ AM.
If a smoker dies of lung cancer and a surviving family member gets that person's name or image tattooed on themselves, would you consider that a glorification of smoking?

kat usually does a good job but this one doesnt look like dj am. i mean, its a good portrait but doesnt look like him. either way, if he was a close friend to dj am, i understand he always wants to keep him close to him. im pretty sure travis barker will do something similar since he has a lot of tattoos.

Clearly, you have no empathy. It's not as if drug addicts are all people who have no problems and do drugs for sh*ts and giggles. Some people have really big problems. Drugs shouldn't be an answer, but I'm not going to get on a high horse about it, considering that I have been blessed with financial advantages and people who love me.

Damn!!! how many of you could live with the memory of losing friends in a fiery plane crash as well as look forward to your skin feeling like its on fire for the rest of your life. then again succumbing to an addiction you thought you overcame a long time ago. he must have felt a deep sense of hypocrisy since he just completed his show trying to be a Role Model to young drug addicts in helping them get clean. he must have felt he let everyone down. This guy was a good guy judging from all the heartpouring he's getting from acquaintances, friends and family. when I met him he was genuine and personable and a lovely soul. not the typical indifferent men you meet nowadays. Almost like a little brother you want to look out for. concerned about everyone elses degree of comfort. God Bless You Adam. I think it looks very good, as do all of her portrait tattoos. And we don't know what picture she was using. Usually the person getting the tattoo brings in a specific picture that he wants done. I'll bet she nailed it (if we could see the pic she went off of).
Tattoos are stupid. Keep loved ones in your heart, don't mar your body in their memory. I don't even think it resembles him that much.
