What does it matter if she had a memorable role in the last 12 or 18 months?? She is a great actress nonetheless. Marlon Brando didn't have a memorable role for years before he died...and he was a great actor.

oh no elaine123. i loves ya but we cannot compare Jennifer to the incomparable Brando. let alone put them in the same sentence. IMHO one doesn't get to be called great until one has done 2-3 amazing performances. JMO. Great is Brando, Streep, DeNiro, Penn, Blanchett to name afew

I agree with you, I wasn't trying to compare their acting abilities, I was trying to understand why you think that, just because an actor (any actor) doesn't have a "recent" great performance, they can't be labeled a great actor. My point is that even if that great performance was 15 years ago, the person is still a great actor. Spending too much trying to explain this...it's probably not worth it.

What do you define as memorable? Or lately? I don't get your criteria. She's an award winning actress who a lot of people like. You may not like her, and that's fine, I'm just trying to understand why you don't.

Im on the fence about her! I thought I liked her, but then after seeing her in "He's just not that into you", I noticed he has a very harsh look about her. I dunno...and her acting is so-so. BUT I have yet to see "a beautiful mind" so I'd like to see that!!! ***annie***

I think she is beautiful and an incredible actress. Requiem for a Dream is one of my favourite films ever made and she is phenomenal in it. I can see how you could be on the fence with her appearance though, because she definitely has a strong beauty, which isn't everyones proverbial cup of tea.
