Vanity Fair publishes an annual list of the "New Establishment," which is a list of "the top 100 Information Age powers." Take that as you will. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were the highest-ranked celebs at #8.
Here's the top 10:
- Lloyd Blankfein (Goldman Sachs)
- Steve Jobs (Apple)
- Jeff Bezos (Amazon)
- Warren Buffet (Berkshire Hathaway)
- Eric Schmidt, Larry Page, and Sergey Brin (Google)
- Larry Fink (BlackRock)
- Rupert Murdoch (News Corp.)
- Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (actors, activists)
- Jamie Dimon (J.P. Morgan Chase)
- Bernard Arnault (LVMH)
Would you put Brad and Angelina on par with these corporate giants? On one hand, it seems like comparing apples and oranges: on the other hand, fame does seem to offer a certain amount of influence.

Hmmmm....I consider myself pretty well educated, but I read that "Top 10" list and it made no sense to me. It reads like a "Who's Who" of the rich, famous, and richer..with some nice humanitarian accomplishments thrown around. Ehhh. ***annie***

shouldn't a power couple be well known, like, worldwide? in my country they are just actors (famous from not so recent movies) and noone cares or knows how much money they spent on their own hum. projects.

They have donated money. And Angie adopts children. On the other hand, Brad was going to rebuild New Orleans and built one house. So, they've done some good, but they also spend an insane amount of money on themselves.

I've always liked Brad, and I have never liked Angie. I think she is dirty and I just can't get over the whole kissing her brother and marriage to Billy Bob, blood around their neck thing. And something tells me that you shouldn't mess with her, she looks like the type that would go crazy! If Brad ever cheated on her, I totally think she would physically hurt him..lol!

All you have to see is the state of NO to know people have forgotten. Not much help going on there. You can't tell me everyone should know when World Refugee Day was, i'm sure you didnt. Thats why they do PSA's, to remind people. It has nothing to do with getting out or being on gossip blogs (which you are guilty of to my friend). thats silly. Have you made mistakes when you were younger or even yesterday? What have you done to amend your self worth? With the bitterness you've showed, my guess is nothing. You sound far from perfect.
