Evan Rachel Wood Running Errands

It's the QUEEN!
I wasn't sure how I would feel about Evan Rachel Wood joining the cast of 'True Blood', but I'm quite enjoying her as Queen Sophie-Anne. She's a bit over dramatic but it seems to fit with such a powerful role.
There was some push back on the casting considering Sophie Ann is really supposed to be 15 or 16 years old. Some die hard fans of the book series were really upset when Evan won the spot, how do you feel about their choice?
Wonder if the HBO hit will keep Evan on as a regular? And while we are talking scheduling - can we please get Alexander Skarsgard some more air time?

Listen, if you're a "die hard" fan of the books, then the show itself should probably annoy you. There are soo many differences from the show. If it were true to the books, there would be no more Lafayette, Tara would be white, unrelated to Lafayette and a minor character. Bill wouldn't have been the one to kill the bartender, so he never would have made Jessica a vampire...in fact, she wouldn't even exist as a character......the list goes on. Get over it. Enjoy the show for the campy version it is, enjoy the hotness of the characters, and hope for more Eric nude scenes next season :)

I have read all the books and they are completely different. I just view the books as a completely different story.

cute sunglasses! ***annie***
Meh. I kind of thought her acting was stilted. There were some parts where it felt natural, but most of her scenes were overdramatic, like you said, but in a way which felt...off.

I thought she was terrible as Sophie Anne. Sophie Anne is supposed to be elegant and intimidating at the same time. The vampires under her are supposed to fear her, not laugh at her behind her back. This girl was just plain silly. I'm not sure if that was the way the character was written but I hope they get rid of the character fast. I can't take her character serious, especially when she's supposed to be in charge of all the vampires in Louisiana, vampires who are brutal and viscious. She was just silly.

Oh and for the record, I'm not really familiar with Evan Rachel Wood. I don't think I've ever seen her in anything so my rant isn't some personal vendetta against her, I just thought the character was way off from what she should have been.

Ugh! I HATE her as the Queen! I really do!! If you've read the books, you'd totally understand what I mean. That character is NOTHING like Sophie Anne in the books, and I despise her... even if I do still watch the darn show!
i love her, i don't understand why people hate on her

To be honest I think it just started when she got on with MM and tried to look like Dita a little too much. People need to get over it, she's just acting like most 20-somethings do.

i like the splash of red she's wearing :D
she was brilliant on TRUE BLOOD
She was AWFUL as Sophie-Anne. The part did not flow at all...her acting was ridiculous. I felt like she was reading the part and every once in a while would add her own dramatic flair to seem like she wasn't. Oh my... BAD. Just bad.
I read all of the books last year and it's tough to watch the show, as it's veering off-course on many of it's story lines. However, I am still enjoying watching it! Anyways, I wish I could say she was good in the role, as I've enjoyed her in other roles she's played. Sadly I don't think she played the part well at all....just didn't feel or look natural. Very rigid and overdone.
When Evan Rachel Wood makes her True Blood debut in the August 30 episode, there will be… well, obviously, blood. “Nobody’s ever entirely happy to see her” character, Louisiana’s blood-sucker boss lady, Queen Sophie-Ann, says series creator Alan Ball. “She’s very powerful, capricious and most likely insane.” We love her already. So it’s a good thing she “has more than one secret agenda,” he teases, “which we will slowly become aware of over season 3.
