Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Spend $80,000 On Gerbil Maze

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have spent over $80,000 while creating a home for their children’s gerbils.

The actors – who raises six kids, Maddox, eight, Pax, five, Zahara, four, Shiloh, three, and 13-month-old twins Knox and Vivienne – put together a massive living space, which boasts tunnels, platforms, seesaws and mazes.

A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “Brad pores over architectural journals like other people pore over newspapers. He had so much fun putting the run together with his kids Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh and Pax.

“It’s incredibly complex and cost a lot but Brad’s more than happy with any activity that can combine his two passions – his kids and architecture.”

The rodents – who will live at the family’s mansion in the South of France – were chosen by Maddox and Pax after their parents took them to a local pet store last week.

An onlooker said: “The boys were really keen to get the gerbils and it was Angelina who reached into the cage to pet them before a store worker got them out.”

Those are probably the most pampered gerbils in the world! LOL!

seriously? Kids grow out of the gerbil stage quickly, don't they? Seems like a lot of money to spend for just a phase.

Sure does!!! Especially when you travel the world trying to raise money for starving children in Africa. HYPOCRITES! How many kids could eat for $80,000??? Gerbils also only live about 2 years. That'll be fun when they can't find the dead stinky one in that monstrosity.

its their money, surely they can do as they please with it.... i dont understand most of the comments i read on the blogs.... are u people just out to be mean and unreasonable to other people, probably because u are less fortunate than them??? jealousy makes u nasty

It is when they beg people to support their causes for the starving and needy of the world and spend frivolously. $35 million on a house & $80K on a gerbil cage??? They need to feed more needy and walk their talk. They need to put their money where their mouths are. It's hypocritical.

If you were donating money and trying to raise awareness for whatever cause you support; should you be expected to donate all of your hard-earned money? I should think not.

They are selfish and self-serving. They are not at all the heros and saints they pretend to be. To those much is given; much is expected.

Hmm. It's from The Sun, not the most reliable newspaper. It's normally full of lies.

Loving the new layout!

Why is it sad? It's like building things with Legos, except on a much bigger and awesome scale.

I don't believe this is true. Unless the maze is made of gold, how could it even be that expensive? I also haven't heard of them buying frivolous things. Buying a mansion or an expensive motorcycle is one thing but a home for pets that probably won't have a long life expectancy seems very unlikely.

Maybe they did, $80,000 is pennies to them. Vera bring back my avi's animation, my points that I know I lost and "who's on line" list. I don't like your new layout if it means taking away from your loyal readers. Get it together and work out the "kinks". I don't understand why you have to constantly change this website.

It's The Sun. Same bunch of liars like the Faux News that are unfair and imbalanced, same owner. I wonder if this is how Murdoch defines quality journalism that he wants people to pay for if they access it online.

No promise on how accurate it is, yeah - but I can see them spending money on setting up something nifty like that. I want to get guinea pigs and set up my own cages, but trust me, it won't be that expensive!

I don't know about this - I guess it could be true. Also, We all know Shiloh is a girl, but I think she kind of looks like a boy with long hair, becuase of they boyish way they dress her. I guess that's fine, but it would be nice to see her looking like a girl.

If it's true...that's a lot of free time on thier hands, considering all the children they have!!!

Although...it doesn't surprise me that much, you know,Angelina is expert in being hypocrite...She has a tattoo in latin that litterally says: "What nourishes me destroys me" That's what i call promoting anorexia, wich is ironic 'cause she helps people who are DYING of hunger!
