OJ Simpson's Former Girlfriend Admits To Abuse
When O.J. Simpson was recently denied bail as he appeals his armed robbery conviction, no one breathed a bigger sigh of relief that his long suffering former girlfriend Christie Prody.
In an exclusive interview to be broadcast in two-parts, Prody tells INSIDE EDITION’S Jim Moret that she was trapped for 13 years in a drug and alcohol fueled relationship that was often violent. She certainly is very short and sweet with her answers.
What went through your mind when you knew he was going to jail for a long time?
That it was now a time for me to be free and start my life over.
Was he ever violent with you?
Yes.
Did he hit you?
Yes.
Did you honestly believe if you left, he would kill you?
Yeah, I did…He called and said he would come there and shoot me and shoot himself.
Did he own a gun at the time?
Yes, he did.
Do you believe that O.J. Simpson killed Nicole and Ron?
Yes.

Simpson was acquitted of the murders. But a civil court jury found him responsible. Ron Goldman’s father, Fred won a $33 million judgment that Simpson refuses to pay.

Last year when Simpson went to prison, Prody went to rehab and is now sober. Prody recently had a baby girl with her new fiance and feels free of Simpson for the first time in 13 years.

Some people are too afraid to leave an abusive relationship. Its not as easy as just walking away. Especially if you don't have anyone to turn to and most abusers try to break apart your friend and family bonds so you only have them to rely on.

The really sick thing is that even if OJ screamed from the mountain tops that he did it, he still couldn't be convicted because of double jeopardy. We have such a twisted system of justice in this country.
