Uma Thurman Covers W Magazine

Uma Thurman Covers W Magazine

Doesn't Uma look amazing? Of course, she always does, but this cover just blows me away! The notoriously private actress also opened up to W Magazine about her personal life.

On marrying fiance Arpad "Arki" Busson and where they'll live (Arki's based in London):

"I'm happily engaged, but we haven’t set a wedding up. I'm not in a rush to do anything. One day we'll do it, when we’re ready… We can't live anywhere else because my children's father lives here. We'll figure that out."

On reassessing her life as she approaches 40:

"I can’t say my 30s were the easiest time. And I had thought my 20s were hard! ... You know, that's the worst mistake a woman can make, to think, Oh, I'm 32 and I’ve had two kids and I've worked since I was 16 and now it's going to get easier. Because as soon as you think that, you're doomed! You’re absolutely doomed!"

On her regret:

"I feel like I lived my life backwards. Like Bob Dylan said, 'I was so much older then; I'm younger than that now.' Getting older has been a process of realizing that I wasn't as grown up as I had thought. When I was a teenager people often referred to me as jaded or knowing. It's a classic teen illusion to think you know it all, but I've certainly learned I don't. I've certainly learned the hard way."

Why her career isn't where it should be, partly because she won't do projects that require her to be away from New York for long stretches of time:

"When my son turned seven, I felt myself stand upright and realize that I wasn't going to be bending over so much. I realized I had been kind of in this position for years! It's nice to think that everybody's getting more independent and now I can kind of maybe, slightly selfishly, think about work again...You know, I do care about my work, and it is part of me. And I am a mother, but I need to do what I'm good at doing. You really can't let go of all of yourself…. Even your kids need you to be who you are... I've been living at home for work for a long time. If I don't leave soon, I'm going to literally choke my career to death."

This is not related to the story but to this site. The changes are great and Test guy has improved some of the issues we had. But....sometimes when I post, I get an error message "your post has been blocked for spam" I know some people come here and post spam messages (it happens in every blog site) but this is getting out of hand. I get this everyday, and sometimes when you post something it is too long to re post. I saw someone post a big "F you Kate" on a story about Kate and Jon a few days ago. That post was posted; it was no blocked and the F word was not "filtered" That was posted? I know I'm not the only one with this issue, wouldn't you think that with technology being so advance you would have a better way of indentifying the spammers from the loyal, legitimate and frequent people that come to this site? I come here for entertainment and to read gossip, it shouldn't be so hard and inconvenient to read some silly story on a celebrity and post. Another thing, if you are running a contest based on points; don't you think you should fix the point issue? My points have been at 11640 for the past two weeks. If you choose a winner, shouldn't it be fair to everyone? I really enjoy coming here; I like the fashions, the gossip, the few people that are cool and even the ones that are not. Gossip blog sites are meant to be entertaining, not frustrating. I just had to get that off my chest.

This is hilarious, I sent this post to Vera as an email you know what she did? my points went from 11640 to 35!!......LMAO!!! If you complain they take your points?...LOL!! this is funny, I can't stop laughing...boo hoo.

Let that be a lesson to you: just walk away. Seriously though, I got that a ton yesterday and a few days before that. Eventually I put very passive agressive descriptions for whoever reads them, and sometimes they get posted, sometimes not.

Mine are reset, too. So maybe she did that on purpose so that we all start from the same point? I think it's nice that she even offers the contests, etc. because other gossip sites would never dream of sharing their goodies. LOL

I was told points were going to be "frozen" until they fix a few things and reevaluate the point value system.

I'm pretty sure I said a few times (out there in the comments) to ignore the point displays because the system was being retooled. If you didn't see it, see it now ;-). I don't want to bore you with the technical details, but I will if I must. Your emails have nothing to do with your points. They are not even viewed by the same person.

The reason your points *seemed* to be going up and down is because I am (today) consolidating the points system into ONE aggregated database table, from the TWO tables it was before. Having two tables was a little bit pointless (HAHA I KILL MYSELF!)

So when your points went down earlier today, that was when I completed the transfer of the first database table into the new, empty, aggregated table. When your points went up again (just a few minutes ago), that was when I completed the integration of the second table. Now I am working on the "business rules" which will handle points for new actions. Don't be surprised if you see your points jiggle a little more today.

My post got spammed the other day as well. It must be a glitch or something. They'll hopefully work it out.

It's weird that she talks like she hasn't been working for some length of time but she's done at least 1 or 2 movies a year steadily.

i like her a lot, but this make-up is very hard on her. softer and subtle is best, his same goes for Jennifer Connelly. these women carry strong facial features they don't need to enhance.
