Deryck and I have been together for 6 and a half years. We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note.
Thank you to all my family, friends and fans for all your support.

There you have it. Avril and Deryck plan on staying close, but feel it’s best to end their marriage. Do you know a couple that divorced and were able to remain friends? Out of the MANY couples that I know who have split, only one maintains a healthy friendship.

Some of my friends who have children have remained on good terms with their exes. It takes a lot of energy and patience–and secret venting, to maintain a solid front for the kids.

It’s really rare–only few celebrities have long-lasting relationship. I think it is the backdrop of their fame and their lifestyle as well. Celebrities are lucky in their career, but unfortunate in love. Was a bit disappointed for the two.
well if they’re not in love anymore why stay together. that’s good if they ended in good terms. better to have that than all the drama.
She should have been the queen on True Blood…Not saying she can act (can she?) but if they were gonna go the exact opposite of the book anyway at least she is scary.

Deryck wrote on Sum41′s myspace (they are my fave band so that is why I noticed) something of the same sort. He said they are remaining friends after 6 years and they were the best 6 years of his life. It’s sad, but at least they are both being very civil about it and hopefully it works out well for both of them.
