Michelle Williams Split From Spike Jonze

These two seemed like a happy, low-key couple! However, Michelle Williams told Vogue that the pair had split, blaming their problems on life circumstances. Spike Jonze was the first man Michelle dated after ex-boyfriend Heath Ledger's death.
"The timing was impossible," she admits. "I thought falling in love again was the only thing that was going to save me from the pain. This erroneous idea: It just makes things more complicated."
"I was holding it together by a string and a paper clip in the fall and winter," she tells Vogue. "I didn't know if I could keep it all together … You console yourself by saying it's all a deepening process. But it's weird. After the first year, the pain is less intense -- it's less immediate. But the magical thinking goes away too. And that's a whole new reckoning."
Williams says dating as a single mother played a part in the breakup.
"I obviously don't know how to do it," says Williams.
Michelle and Spike met while working together on the film 'Synecdoche, New York' in the summer 2007. Michelle and Heath split in September 2007, and she and Spike began dating in July 2008, six months after Heath's death.
Their difficulties are completely understandable, and everyone's grieving process is different, but it sounds like Michelle is getting back on her feet after a rough year or so.

I think she left Heath because he was a bad drug addict.

Wow, meme, that was really rude! You have no idea why they really split. Like Donna says, maybe it was because he was a drug addict. Whatever the reason was, your comment is way out of line.
She seems like such a sweet girl!! Shes been through a lot and i really hope everything works out for her.
Dear Meme, you are psychotic.

it was probably such a devastating thing to go through especially knowing that her daughter would never see her dad again. after that, it was probably not the best time to concentrate in her relationship but to concentrate on her daughter.
She may have thought it was just a temporary break - that would make his death even more of a shock (if possible). No one can read the future.
Every website I've read says that she wasn't letting him see the kid in his last months because she couldn't trust him due to the drugs. I think her problem may be a twinge of guilt that she kept them apart and then it was too late. Doesn't mean it was the wrong thing to do, but it would haunt you a bit.

That had to be so hard for her.
I don't give a damn about this phony manipulative cow. She's just a liar. When will she stop milking Heath's name? Leave him alone!!!! Heath dumped her, hated her for using Matilda to hurt him (or should I say, denying him access to her to hurt him) and she has the incredible NERVE to still milk his name and pretend that she is his widow. One day the truth will be known and let's see if you all think she's as sweet as you do. She's a liar and a phony. But of course, she will do anything for people not to find out the truth.
Terry Gilliam, Heath's great friend and mentor, didnt' have nice things to say about her in his interview with Vanity Fair a couple of months ago. Google it. She denied Heath his child and got lawyers to give him hell with demands. I feel really sorry for what Heath went through. She wasn't even his wife, just a rebound who got pregnant, probably on purpose too to trap him. Then she turned spiteful towards him when he finished it. He wasn't inlove with her, big deal. She didnt' have to use Matilda against him to hurt him. It's sad she now tries to pull the wool over our eyes. Pathetic really.
Anonymous, you sound like an obsessed psycho. Let me guess, you know the truth and Heath loved you instead right?
