On Thursday Avril Lavigne confirmed on her blog that she and husband Deryck Whibley are getting a divorce. A source close to the couple says that Avril was ready to move on from the relationship and find herself again.
“She married too young and she finally realized that,” says a source. “Avril realized she needs her own life and needs to explore things without him.”
It really is a shame that this young couple couldn’t make it in Hollywood. For the most part, their relationship was kept out of the tabloids which usually means that things were good. But I guess in the end they decided just to go their separate ways on good terms.

That’s really too bad. I thought they were a great couple. I love both bands music and it just seemed so cute they ended up together. Punk love. I don’t think she was too young for marriage, but it’s her view that matters not mine. Not everyone is ready for the same things at the same time and marriage is a huge step to take. I also don’t think she was too ‘immature’ either. After all it’s not like it was a huge messy break up. They just realized that maybe they weren’t ready for this part of their lives and split.
No, they were not too young. Too IMMATURE yes. I am the same age as Avril and have been happily married since I was 21. She behaves like a spoiled teenager instead of a young woman. She still has that high school mentality.

It is probably hard to censor the anonymous comments. I really am impressed by your tact in commenting on the fact that these types of comments have no place on INO. They are not only a little confusing but they are dripping in hate and quite unpleasant to come across.
yeah they were too young but there’s a few who can still make it. they are probably becoming two different people. that sucks she will now say she’s divorce at such a young age.
You are by far the exception. I wonder if your partner feels the same way? Usually, one or the other feels like they missed out on something by committing so young at some point. Congrats if it is working.

Before the age of 25 they are the same in this context. No one should get married before they are 25. That is when the frontal lobe is usually formed and judgement is mature.

I agree that’s it’s a shame. They were too young though. Maybe she’ll come out with some more inspirational music or something. Maybe more mature. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
