Lindsay Price For Fitness Magazine

She works magic as a witch on the new ABC drama Eastwick (premiers Wednesday, September 23rd @ 10/9c on ABC), but in real life, Lindsay Price’s power comes from her supercharged workout routine. In the October issue of FITNESS, Lindsay shares how she stays healthy and fit, talks about zipping into size 0 samples for Lipstick Jungle, playing the nerd on her new show Eastwick and why Brooke Shields would do anything for her butt.

On Lipstick Jungle, you played a sexy fashion designer. Did you feel pressure to live up to that?

“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t. It was a dream to be able to step into couture clothing straight off the runway, but zipping into size 0 samples made me feel like I had to mold my body into a fashion ideal. I have scars from zippers cutting into me. There was no way I was going to starve myself. So I had to get up in the morning and work hard to tone up. As much as I loved the show, in some ways I was relieved when it was canceled. “

Is Brooke Shields really jealous of your booty?

“Brooke and [Lipstick Jungle costar] Kim Raver are fans of my butt. I had a frightening thing happen last year when we were filming in New York City: I had a bunch of spider bites-three on each, um, cheek. I developed an extreme allergic reaction that made me break out in hives. So I sent an e-mail with a photo of what happened to Brooke and Kim. Instead of saying, “Oh my God, I hope you’re okay,” they said, “Oh my God, I would do anything for that butt!” That made me feel better, I have to say.”

On identifying with her “nerdy” character on Eastwick

“She’s a witch who’s just coming into her magical powers, but she puts her foot in her mouth all the time. In a lot of ways I think she’s more like me than any of my other characters, because I try to repress that awkward, nerdy, fumbling girl.”

What’s the klutziest thing you’ve done lately?

“Yesterday I bought an iced coffee on the way to the gym, and, of course, I spilled it down my shirt. It gets worse-there were photographers waiting for me after my workout. I’m not one of those girls who glistens when I exercise. I sweat like a fountain and turn bright red. And even though I was mortified, you know what was going through my mind? Okay, coffee stain, red face and gross hair aside, how do my abs look?”

Working out with your boyfriend, Josh Radnor [star of How I Met Your Mother]: a do or a don’t?

“I think it’s great if you surf, hike or bike as a couple. Hitting the gym with a significant other is not my thing. I see it as work, and I wouldn’t take my boyfriend to the office with me.”
