Looks like Renee Zellweger isn't planning on spending her nights binging on fried chicken and sugary treats while getting ready for the third installment of Bridget Jones' Diary. Instead, the actress is reportedly planning to wear a fat suit for the film.
In both 2001 and 2004, Renee gained the weight she needed to shoot both films on her own. This time around, she will get a little help from the wardrobe department instead. All smoke and mirrors folks. Smoke and mirrors.
A source tells Britain’s Reveal magazine,
"Renee will be wearing a fat suit in the third film as it took her a while to lose the weight last time. She’s also thinking about the effect quickly putting on and then losing 30 pounds has on her body."
If you are fans of the series, both Colin Firth and Hugh Grant are set to return.

That is definitely horrible for your body to gain so much and then lose it again very quickly. I think she should go with the fat suit. She's gonna screw herself up if she doesn't.
Too bad she obviously needs a fattening meal since she looks like death on a triscuit but you know I'd rather see anything over a renee zellweger movies!

That dress is so cute but her legs look SO gross. :( I can understand not wanting to yoyo for the role but I think the fat suit is going to make it pretty cheesy.

I can't get past the squinty eyes to notice anything else about her. As for the extra weight--she could use a few pounds, but I can understand her reluctance to pack it on for a role.

It's a good thing that she won't gain the weight for the movie because it's unhealthy.
I think it's completely unhealthy for her to yo-yo her weight for movies. Wearing a fat suit is a smart decision... she should have a say in her health and her own body.

Although I don't think it's a good idea to drastically fluctuate in weight as Renée has; I don't think the fat suit will have the same effect. Enough with remakes already. Be more creative!

It's so hard on your body to gain so much weight and then lose it again. I don't blame her for not wanting to do it for a third time, but wearing a fat suit.... I don't know, won't it be obvious? I think it might distract from the story.... checking constantly to see if you can see where the fat suit ends and the real Rene starts.

I'm sorry, but how is 130 pounds considered "Fat"?!?
Medically speaking, a 5' woman should be 100lbs, and add 5 pounds for every inch over that. So at 5'4" to 5'5", she should be a healthy 120-125. So having her character be 130, seriously? NOT overweight by any of our standards - not until she would reach about 150 pounds would her BMI classify her as "overweight."
