Marilyn Manson Has Swine Flu

Marilyn Manson has swine flu. The ‘We’re From America’ rocker has been officially diagnosed with the H1N1 virus, although he does not have a life-threatening case and is expected to make a speedy recovery.

Joking about his diagnosis on his MySpace Celebrity blog, he wrote:

“So I have officially been diagnosed, by a real doctor, with THE SWINE FLU. I know everyone will suggest that f***ing a pig is how this disease was obtained.

“However, the doctor said my past choices in women have in no way contributed to me acquiring this mysterious sickness. Unfortunately, I am going to survive. M [sic]“

He’s joking, but thank goodness the doctors aren’t that concerned.

Manson isn’t the only celebrity to have been diagnosed with the potentially fatal disease, which originated in Mexico and has the symptoms of a heavy cold.

‘Harry Potter’ actor Rupert Grint – who plays Ron Weasley in the hit wizard film franchise – thought he was going to die when he contracted the highly contagious disease.

“It was quite scary when I first found out I had swine flu. I thought, ‘Am I going to die?’ But it was just like any other flu really. I had a sore throat and I went to bed for a few days.”

Do you know anyone who had and recovered from swine flu?

the vaccine has killed more people than the actual virus. I refuse to get vaccinated.

  4. bgduckie_01 says:

  5. Monica says:

I am getting my shots soon.

  6. Monica says:

That’s the most ignorant thing I’ve ever hear. If that were true, why would doctors give the flu shot?

  7. Anonymous says:

is that a real snake he’s holding?? hmm….

  8. Katie Bee says:

Of course he had to make some sort of snide remark relating the women he’s dated in the past to the swine flu. Let it go!

  9. C. says:

    Just to bug you perhaps.

  10. Helen says:

So I guess the net didn’t catch the flu?

My best friend had swine flu in May. She’s a nurse, she was pregnant and she almost died. She spent most of the month unconscious on a ventilator then trach’d. Her baby was delivered at 32 weeks in the midst of all of that. Everyone is now fine for the most part (she has lingering memory issues), but I would advise pregnant women to seriously consider getting the H1N1 shot when it’s released (As a non-pregnant person I will most likely not get this vaccine as I don’t think it’s been researched enough, plus it’s a live virus). This swine flu affects pregnant women more strongly than other people. There are many women around the country who have died because their swine test came back negative and they weren’t given Tamiflu. My friend’s test also came back negative, but she was given Tamiflu. We feel this saved her life.

I don’t know anyone who had Swine Flu, but it doesn’t really seem like that big of a deal from what everyone on here is saying. There are a few kids in the schools my parents work in that have it, and my parents are fine.

Okay so I am confused, is the H1N1 virus the swine flu or are they two seperate viruses?

  14. DonnaJ says:

    Hardly.

  15. C. says:

    H1N1 is swine flu.

  16. Anonymous says:

I hope Marilyn gets well soon, he’s my hero and obsession.

  17. C. says:

Really??? The guy who blows snot boogers into the audience is your hero? Time to raise your standards.

  18. Chelle says:

That sucks! Don’t understand the point of that net.

  19. DonnaJ says:

I just wanna know why he has a net over his face. LOL!

  20. KissKiss says:

In the Netherlands (maybe in other parts of the world too :) ) we have this meatdish, it’s pork (sometimes beef aswell, or a mixture) it’s rolled up in a net and then you cook it in the oven. Kinda like Manson.

I guess he totally had that swine flu coming :p

  21. hmurtagh says:

Seriously! That’s all I was thinking.

  22. bgduckie_01 says:

that was my main question lol.

  23. CapturingLife says:

I know a lot of people who’ve had it. It was nothing more than a regular flu, in some cases even less severe. Some sniffles, light cough, body aches, feverish and gone within a few days. I think the hysteria over it is so over the top. And there’s NO WAY I’m getting that vax – I’m not a guinea pig. Do some research as to what happened the last time there was a breakout and they rushed the vaccine through without proper testing….it’s scary.

  24. C. says:

ATTENTION kids: I just learned of a really easy way to rack up your points without much effort. Vera just told me not to flag the duplicates. Per Vera,

people can post however many times they want on the same subject
even if it’s the same words
    :)
    thanks

So, cut and past away! I didn’t want to keep this all to myself ;)

  25. papyrus says:

agree w/your bf …. its all a distraction, look at the sily monkey over here!!

  26. chichi says:

yeah my bf thinks this is just a scheme from the government to get the attention away from the economy. hehehehe
I don’t know anyone who has had swine flu thank goodness!

  27. Harper says:

What is with the cobra??? That is one strange cat there…..

  28. Nicole says:

I had to scroll back up to look for it and I jumped a little when I found it! LOL

  29. audrey says:

I have friends who get a flu shot every year. And every year they get sick with some form of the flu that the shots don’t cover. I don’t get flu shots–not ever. I’ve been sick maybe all of twice in the past 10 years. I get colds, those are impossible to avoid, but otherwise I am healthy.

  30. Anonymous says:

same here, everyone I know gets the flu everytime they get a flu shot. I NEVER get flu shots and I’ve only had the flu once in my lifetime.

  31. Ashrifia says:

I got the flu shot in Jan 2008, and in Dec I got the flu really bad. I NEVER got the flu to the extent of vomiting before my father made me get that stupid shot. I refuse to ever get a flu shot again, you kill your chances of your own immunities getting strong enough to fight it…

  32. Anonymous says:

don’t get the shot…it will kill you! Do the research people!
just a money making business…even the makers aren’t getting the shot!

  33. Monica says:

WRONG… People who die after receiving the shot do not die from the shot, but some other cause. Why don’t you do YOUR research? If it were just a money making business, then Canada wouldn’t give them away to millions and millions for FREE!!!! What do you have to say about THAT?

  34. valcat says:

It fits him well : )

  35. DonnaJ says:

    LOL! You’re funny, Kiss.

  36. Anonymous says:

I hope he stops touring until he is 100% free of this virus because a few weeks ago myself along with 7 other people went to one of his shows and we front row and center on the gate. He spat on the crowd throughout the entire performance, and within a day or so ALL 8 of us had contracted the virus. Noone died but it is VERY VERY painful, it is more intense than the “regular” flu and it just down right sucks.

  37. Monica says:

Wow, do your research people. The flu shot does NOT cover stomach viruses (rotavirus, norovirus, etc…). It covers certain strains of the INFLUENZA virus. It will only protect you from the worst strains of influenza that scientists predict are going to hit the hardest every year. People are like, I got the flu shot but I sitll got sick! THAT’S BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER TYPES OF VIRUSES YOU CAN GET besides influenza which the flu shot is for! It is impossible to vaccinate for everything in one shot. And once again, that is NOT the vomiting flu. Geeeeeez.
