Charlize Theron Is Excited About Trying Out For Catwoman Role
Charlize Theron would love to “kick a*s” as Catwoman. The Hollywood actress is thrilled to learn she is in the running to play the super-villain alongside Christian Bale and Michael Caine in the upcoming sequel to Batman blockbuster ‘The Dark Knight’.
“It’s news to me, but that's kick-a*s news. I like that... I think that what has happened to that franchise is amazing, and director Chris Nolan is a genius. So I would be an idiot to not consider that.”
If the 34-year-old starlet accepts the role, she will be following in the footsteps of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry, who have both donned the iconic leather catsuit on the big screen.
It was reported last month that Megan Fox was to be offered the part, but Warner Bros. moved quickly to insist no casting decisions have yet been made for the film which is based on the DC comic books.
A representative for the studio said: "It's a rumor. It's not true. There is no script yet.”
Other actresses linked to the role include Angelina Jolie and Rachel Weisz. Out of everyone that is up for the part, who would you most like to see as Catwoman?

I can't imagine Rachel Weisz in the role, and I can't stand Megan Fox, so I guess I would go for Charlize Theron. :)

I'm hoping they cast someone more unknown or unconventional for the roll...I think that's been part of the appeal of the new Batman movies.

Did any of the actresses tryout for the role because Charlize's comment made it sound like she had no idea she was even up for the role. Megan Fox was a rumor spread by her management. The new Batman movies are Oscar level movies. They are not going to give the role to dumb bimbo.

oh noes! horribly done. not sure it was entirely her fault the movie sucked. more like bad directing! but yes, i agree, hopefully, if she is picked, she doesn't try to use anything she "learned" from aeon flux.
forgot about halle berry. didn't even see it. well, saw like 3 mins of it while it played on tv........BAD kitty! that should never have happened. i'm glad the franchise in now in the hands of someone who is trying to follow the original stories from the comics.

I love all three of those actresses but I'm not sure I want to see any of them as Catwoman. I have to agree with the poster who said something about casting someone a little more unknown or not as famous for the role.

When it comes to action movies she is the best among all other actresses in my opinion! I love Charlize but i don't think she has the kick ass look, she is more convincing in drama tales!

Charlize was my second pick for the past year now,but Kate Beckinsale is my #1 pick,I could only hope that she too,is also in the running.Omg,every bit of news comes out on the third movie,rumor or not,I get more and more excited!!!! I hope this time,there are more shirtless,sexy,hot scenes with Christian this time,a hot love scene would be even better,and for the fuck's sake,better dialogue!!!And if it's not too much to ask,better chemistry with he and his female costar!!!! Angelina Jolie is way too overexposed, Megan Fox can't act and Charlize Theron would be a bad fit. Rachel Weisz is the best choice for the role.

They will all suck compared to Pheiffer. The last actress Maggie was awful. Katie Holmes was better and sizzled opposite Bale.
