Fact Or Fiction: Will ‘Breaking Dawn’ Be Split Into Two Films?

According to E! Online’s Ted Casablanca, the answer is: maybe. He says that although nothing has been officially confirmed, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg will be back to do the ‘Breaking Dawn’ adaptation. It’s just uncertain how that will happen yet.

“There are no formal plans yet,” Deep Twi tells us.

Uh, well, want to know why that is? We’ve heard a bit of incredibly juicy info… Execs over at Summit are going back to the idea of splitting BD into two films.

Remember, last time we checked in with Deep Twi it was looking like Dawn would only be one movie, but recently everyone internally has been referring to it as “the Breaking Dawn films.” That’s right, you didn’t imagine the plural ending there.

Still, nothing has been decided yet. Most likely what’s happening is Rob ‘n’ crew agreed to a fourth…not fifth. Once the cast determines if they are up for five, then Melissa can plan accordingly about how to pen out this fourth flick.

Assuming this is true, it sounds like nothing is certain. So, what do you think: fact or fiction? And if you think this may be a possibility, do you like the idea of dividing ‘Breaking Dawn’ into two movies? They’re doing it with the final ‘Harry Potter’ novel.

dont really care what they decide to do since i havent read the book.

  2. sweet kiddo says:

    do not care

  3. Nimbus says:

Don’t care what they do with it, I won’t be watching. And Rob always looks like he is totally stoned out of his brains, damn he’s gross….

  4. Nicole says:

I haven’t read the books, just can’t seem to get into them, but I loved Twilight and I guess they can do whatever they want. Two movies, would make them more money!

  5. Anonymous says:

who cares if they make more money with 2 films – i just want to watch um!!! I love it!!! and think of all that extra screen time with Edward and Jasper… mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  6. wizsdoitbetter says:

OMFG! twilight has just found another reason why it sucks. Nothing happens in this book! Splitting it in 2 would just make the viewers suffer for even longer! I’m certainly not paying to see a second installment!

  7. IheartTwilightSaga<3 says:

I think they should make it into two movies.
Because, they can get more detail into them. 3 would be even better! first movie: the honeymoon, getting married etc. second movie: all in jacobs point of view. third movie: Baby being born. Bella turning into a vampire! I would love it like that!!! I love twilight Saga,, and i hate the haters who comment on things like this, if you have the time to read it you cant hate it that much. Just my opinion! twilight saga is bloodly brilliant!!

Splitting it in two sounds very Harry Potter to me. I think one Breaking Dawn would be enough, thank you.

  9. Steph says:

Why do people comment on this if they don’t care?!

I think it should be made into two movies, it is such a long book, if it was made into just one, then they would leave out a whole load of things, and I would be royally pissed off! >:( Two films please Summit!

  10. vampfair says:

i would love to be cast in BD. I would be a great Katie, you know, one of the Denali sisters! If anyone could help me find a way to get an audition for that, i won’t disappoint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!besides, us little people need chances to grow too, righ?????????????????

  11. Ha says:

Agreed. There is nothing that happens that needs extra film time. It’s nothing at all like Harry Potter where there was so much background and detail that needed to be included.

The ending of Breaking Dawn was hugely anti-climactic. I was actually kind of p*ssed after reading it. All that build-up leading to a powwow in a field? Give me a break.

  12. Manimal says:

Nothing effing happens in the last book. There’s a honeymoon, a baby, Bella into a vampire, and a huge Deus Ex Machina culminating into a huge letdown. One more is plenty.

  13. Nicole says:

Thanks Manimal – Some of us haven’t read the books! J/K I read all about it on Wikipedia! For some reason, I just can’t get into reading the books, but I loved Twilight. I guess I’m more into reading Jodi Picoult. :)

  14. CapturingLife says:

My worry is for the “flow” and feel of the movies since it seems they will all have a different director. I honestly don’t think BD needs to be 2 movies but I guess they need to milk that cash cow for all it’s worth. ;)

  15. DonnaJ says:

    Don’t know…don’t care.

  16. Anonymous says:

There is way way too much going on in BD to fit it all into a two or three hour movie without confusing the viewers who did not take the time to read the books.

  17. Anonymous says:

Whatever brings Summit the most revenue will be done.
And that is at least a two-film end.
Way to press the money out of pizzafaced fangirls.

  18. OutInLeftField says:

Make it one movie so we can get this franchise over with. Then make a movie about just Jasper, I’m still fangirl crushing here.

  19. Nicole says:

LOL – Yeah! Make a Jasper Hale movie!!! I’d see that opening night! :)

  20. hunt111 says:

I don’t care. I’m just very excited about it all. I can’t wait for NM.

  21. Anonymous999999999 says:

i hope they do make it into 2 movies. theres so much in the book that if they tired to make one movie it would b like 5 hours long or they would b leaving to much out. dont mess up the movie. BD was an awsome book. although i think i could sit through one movie if they did leave parts out

  22. clarinetkim says:

I haven’t read the books but most likely will see whatever movies come out.
