Julia Robert’s Children Get Hindu God Names

I’ve heard (of course I can’t find the article to link to, so take it for what it’s worth) that in India, celebrities are revered as god-like. So it’s not that surprising that while Julia Roberts is in India filming ‘Eat, Pray, Love,’ a Hindu priest named Swami Dharam Dev has given her three children Hindu god names.

“I have named her twins Hazel and Phinnaeus as Laxmi and Ganesh, while Henry will be called Krishna Balram.”

He also reportedly offered prayers for successful filming before the shoot began in India. This takes celebrity worship to a whole new level, but what a kind gesture!

a kind gesture? the name you give your child is extremely personal and a RIGHT of the parents, certainly not of anyone else. think about it. it’s freakish.
