Kristen Davis doesn’t want children because she gets to be a mother on screen. The actress, who is once again playing the married mom-of-two Charlotte York Goldenblatt for another ‘Sex and the City’ movie, says the playing the character gives her all the experience of domestic bliss she needs.
“I have just spent the day with my fake children. I get to do Charlotte’s days at home with the dogs and the kids and living her life. I love it.”
The 44-year-old star – who is believed to be dating photographer Russell James - admits people struggle to understand she is different from her on-screen alter ego and can’t understand why she doesn’t want to marry.
She added to Australia’s Sydney Morning Herald newspaper:
“We definitely don’t share the focus on marriage and there have been some strange things written about me. I once went to a wedding and the next week there were stories with headlines like ‘Kristin gives up on her dream of marriage’, which was never something I was focused on. I am not goal-orientated like that.
“When I say no to being photographed, people get surprised because they expect me to be nice like Charlotte.”
I have to admit, she is one of those actresses who I did believe was very similar to her on screen character. Kristen plays SUCH a believable Charlotte! And if you watch Noggin, you know she is the voice of the mother in Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch too.

She looks so old in that pic and the 80′s clothes add to it.
Good for her! Having children is not for everyone & not wanting any doesn’t make you strange. I applaud her honesty.
good for her for knowing what she wants and DOESNT want.
She just has such an adorable face! That, combined with her character in SatC, definitelly makes you think they’re a like. It’s funny to hear they’re not.
It is actually refreshing to hear that she isn’t because I cannot handle someone like Charlotte being real. I mean, she makes me vomit she is that sweet.
I love her as Charlotte!

good, not every woman wants the marriage, children etc. some women are not as open to say it like she does and are seen like they need some sympathy or feel bad for them.
good decision…
Not everyone is cut out to be a mother or wife. Its wonderful that she knows herself well enough not to conform to what society oftentimes dictates.
and go figure why but people will still judge you if you don’t conform to the “”"” norm”"”" ..
I love her either way, she’s so gorgeous!
Whenever I tell people I don’t want kids I always get the, “Don’t say that!” “You’re just young.” “You’ll meet the right guy one day and have kids” response and it drives me nuts! Some people just don’t have that desire and I don’t get why people don’t understand that. I love kids and adore watching my friend’s kids but having my own is definitely something I don’t want to do.
don’t ever feel embarrassed because of it .

People will often try and kill what they do not understand.
