Christina Aguilera is working on her “best album yet”. The ‘Candyman’ singer has collaborated with M.I.A., Flo Rida, Le Tigre and Santigold on ‘Light and Darkness’, which is being produced by Tricky Stewart, the mastermind behind Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’ and Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’. Tricky said:
“It’s just great. I wouldn’t say that it’s alternative, I wouldn’t say that it’s different. Christina’s always been an artist that moves the bar and that’s what the great ones do.
“They don’t stay in the same place for too long and this album is just another move for her. I really feel it’s one of her best bodies of work that I’ve heard since ‘Stripped’.”
The CD will be Christina’s fourth studio album, and her first since 2006. But although the album is almost finished, it won’t be released until next year because Christina is too busy working on new film ‘Burlesque’ with Cher.
“She’s gonna do the film first. She didn’t want to not be able to promote this record because it’s going to be a big record for her.
“The album is finished. She’s mixing. She hasn’t made a final decision about what the first single is, but I know everyone feels good about their options.”
My favorite Christina album is her Christmas one. Yes, I’m serious. I play it for the entire month of December. My husband’s LEAST favorite album (I am sure you can guess) is Christina’s Christmas album. LOL! He wants to KILL ME during the holidays.

She said the album was coming out THIS SUMMER, the dumb c***. I can’t stand how we always have to wait an additional three years for her s***. Somehow, the girl has managed to evolve with my musical tastes (I love every single album – except “My Kind of Christmas”) and I love her for that. But I swear, I’m not buying this next one because I’m sick to death of waiting for her s***. Okay, fine, of course I’ll buy her album. But I’m illegally downloading every god**** B-side she comes out with! I’m not investing a penny in her any of her singles. Besides, by the time she drops her electronica-fare, the fad will be over. Grr, Christina, grr.
I LOVE Christina, both musically and what I’ve heard and read of her personally. My only complaint would be that sometimes I think she oversings just a tad. It’s hard to control a voice that powerful, but I think it would make her even better if she pulled back a bit sometimes. I love how she changes her sound up constantly. Her music grows and evolves just as she does as she gets older. I think it’s a sign of a truly talented artist to be able to do so many diverse things so successfully. My favorite album of hers is still “Stripped.” I came out at a time in my life where I could really relate to it, and I still listen to it often and enjoy it.

I LOVE her christmas album, too! I’ve always been a huge fan of christina, she has an incredible voice. She does tend to over-sing sometimes, but sometimes, I think her talent just tends to take over. She’s got such a huge voice, though, such a talent!
Her Stripped album was just amazing. I really didn’t care for the one after…hoping this one will be good!

I like most of her early music, haven’t really listened to anything from her most recent album. I’m just glad she’s calmed down with her style, she really looks great like that.

I’ve never listened to her Christmas album, Vera, but now I must! LOL! I like Christina very much, while I sometimes think she tries too hard vocally, her talent can not be dismissed.
Why wouldn’t anyone know who Portishead is? Anywhoo, Christina’s favorite album of mine is Back to Basics, I’ve never heard her Christmas album. Her voice is so incredible, I am curious to hear what the new songs will sound like.

Her voice is ok, too over the top at times. She should tone it down, I am betting she completely rips off Portishead on this album. Not like I expect anyone on this board to know who they are.
