Valerie Bertinelli says she feels better about herself today, at 49, than she ever has, she confided to Ladies Home Journal.
“I’ve realized I’m more important than food is. I love a big slice of pizza. But I love myself more,” she says in the November Issue of Ladies’ Home Journal, out Oct. 13. “Being thin is about changing the way you think about yourself. It’s about saying you deserve to be healthy. In no way have I perfected this eating thing, and I don’t know that I ever will. But life is about making progress. It’s not about perfection.”
Valerie also talked about her photoshoot in a green bikini last March.
“There was no hiding behind Spanx for that one. I was hesitant, but I was working out so friggin’ hard,” she says. “I thought, ‘Why not show this body off? I’m almost 50 and I haven’t felt this good about myself since I was 16.”
Valerie sounds like she’s in a great place emotionally. I agree with her, we all are more important than what we eat. It’s just that so many foods that taste great happen to be fattening! That’s the problem as I see it

She looks great. And may I add she is the only ‘celeb’ who STRESSES the fact that ITS A LIFESTYLE CHANGE NOT A DIET. There are no such thing as diets, just ways to make yourself go crazy. GO VALERIE!!!

She is looking fine! About her comment though. Hmmm, I like food a lot AND myself. I like to celebrate both together at times and it nourishes my soul. Food is a good thing in life..it isn’t the enemy.
