Ellen Pompeo Will Have A Very Short Maternity Leave

Although Ellen Pompeo gave birth less than a month ago, and 'Grey's Anatomy' reportedly planned for Ellen (and her character, Meredith Grey) to be written out for a few episodes, it looks like that won't be happening after all, according to E! Online's Kristen Dos Santos.

Sources confirm that Ellen Pompeo is expected to return to the set of Grey's Anatomy "very soon" after giving birth to baby girl Stella Luna Sept. 15. Thanks to her early return, as well as her willingness to preshoot scenes before the birth (most of which took place in bed after Meredith's liver surgery in last night's ep), it is working out that not a single episode will go Meredith Grey-less.

First the writers were probably scrambling to find a credible way to write out the title character; now they're probably scrambling to find a way to write her back in!

So, sound off, you 'Grey's Anatomy' fans: is this a good thing, or are there so many things going on, you wouldn't have minded a little less of Meredith for a few episodes?

While I know there are many people that don't relate to Meredith (therefor don't like her), I personally LOVE her. I'm very excited that she's going to be around the whole time, it wouldn't be Grey's without her!

Anyhow, it's nice that she seems to have the option of whether to take a maternity leave. I understand that a lot of women in the U.S. don't have that luxury.

I'm really liking her this season. Her character has really grown and she's not so dark and twisty these days. With all the new actors they are bringing in with the merge, I'm glad she won't miss an episode. I like Ellen, but my new fave on that show is Lexi. Love her! Love her and McSteamy together!
