Angelina Jolie May Replace Charlize Theron In 'The Tourist'
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Charlize Theron has dropped out of her starring role in 'The Tourist,' and Angelina Jolie is in talks to replace her.
A remake of the French thriller "Anthony Zimmer" from 2005, "Tourist" centers on an American tourist who, on behalf of Interpol, goes undercover to entrap a former lover who's a suspected global criminal. It follows in the long tradition of innocents caught up in shady activities abroad that dates back to Hitchcock ("The Man Who Knew Too Much"), Polanski ("Frantic") and beyond, and a theme that also has contemporary echoes with "Taken" this past year.
Sam Worthington ('Terminator: Salvation') will play the American tourist. This role sounds perfect for Angelina, doesn't it?

How come Charlize Theron won't do it?
Charlize must have her reasons but, with Angelina Jolie, the film reaches a higher level.
Both Charlize and Angelina are beautiful but, for this movie, Angelina is the best choice. Even if you think Charlize is more beautiful (I don't), you can't deny that Angelina is more powerful, at least on screen, and will perfectly fit this role.

I've actually never seen an Angelina movie, so I guess I can't comment. I don't watch a lot of movies or any TV. For some reason it just doesn't entertain me!

Very good question! :) I have always had magazine subscriptions since I was pretty young. The sections on celebs were always my favourite! Then I started to search them up on the internet for more pics and stories. Gossip sites were not around like, at all like 7 or 8 years ago, so they were hard to find. It's just been a vicious cycle since then and now the internet is filled with celeb galore!
I guess it just goes to prove that more people are celebrities than artists today. If you don't watch much TV or see movies, you aren't interested in their "art" (those of them who actually produce art - or try to). Kind of sad.

hahaha, I have no idea... I guess society these days glorifies the "celebrity" aspect so much that we forget about the artistic side of movies and TV shows. All the reality shows don't help either. (ie. The Hills.)

I get kind of tired of seeing actors do the same type of movies over and over. Brad doesn't do that. He goes from action to drama to comedy. I would love to see Angelina do comedy. Although, she doesn't seem to have to much of a sense of humor. But, being able to play someone who is completely different from who you are is what separates a good actor from a great actor.
i agree with you. it gets old watching the same actors play the same role over again. exactly what you said. except for the part of angelina doing comedy. i don't think i would ever want to see that happen.
my bf said this: i don't like knowing anything about the personal lives of actors. it ruins my movie moment, bc they could be a great actor/actress but then i know that they cheated/had affairs/drugs/etc and i'll think that everything i see them on film/tv. he's got a point though. haha sorry i wrote a lot.
She looks so thin in this pic. I kinda wish she and Brad would slow it down a bit to just hide away with their kids and just focus on them for a few years, but it's their life. I am sure she will do well in the role and that I won't see the movie until it's out on cable anyway.
They are always together with their kids. They both are having a long vacation right now. They both are in the height of their carreirs they are not bothring anybody.Why would they stop now?

lol, i haven't seen this one but french action things tend to be somewhat boring IMO, i'd rather see Angie than Charlize in this, she has enough edgyness to make a movie interesting even when it's.. not. Might be a good one too, have to wait and (maybe) see. Must say i much prefer her dramas to her action.

Sam Worthington will soon be in Australia to meet the man who he will play in a new war film. The man, Dr. Craig Jurisevic is a trauma surgeon who fought with the Kosovo Liberation Army covertly during the Kosovo Conflict of 1999. Working behind enemy lines, in concert with U.S. Special Forces, Jurisevic managed to save the lives of hundreds of Kosovar civilians fleeing the ethnic- cleansing initiated by Milosevic's forces.
Eva Orner ( Oscar and Emmy winner) will be producing the film and it is rumored that Mark Boal ( The Hurt Locker ) will write the screenplay.
Negotiations underway for director and studio.
Information very reliable: I am good friends with a work colleague of the surgeon and also know that he is publishing a book next year on the same topic.

Her acting is laughable. I never understood why she was crowned this amazing actress. She sucks. She plays the same role over and over again and her total lack of personality shines thru in her atrocious acting.
People think that the nay-sayers are underestimating her because she's preeetty. I say her supporters are overestimating her because of that exact reason. She's decent, not amazing. People are mesmerized by her on film because of her face, not her skills. Plus she's just as guilty as allowing herself to be typecast as the next person. She has her comfort zone and I've yet to see her wander outside of it. Intense, brooding, sexy, seductress.... Um, yup. It's a par for the course role, this one.
well, she has one win and nomination playing drama. That is not the same thing and says a lot about her acting ablity.

I just don't think Angelina is a good actress. The only film that ever held my attention was Girl Interrupted (which I think was her best role) and Gia.
And in both films she played parts with huge similarities to her own personality.
If playing yourself is easy and brings awards everyone would play themselves. But it is more hard to play yourself. If she did play herself it only makes her more talented than we think of her.
