Katie Holmes Enrolls Suri Cruise In Catholic School

Katie Holmes has enrolled her daughter in a Catholic school. The ‘Thank You For Smoking’ actress reportedly infuriated Scientologist husband Tom Cruise with her insistence that three-year-old Suri attend the Catholic Charities Yawkey Centre For Early Education And Learning in Boston, Massachusetts.

A source close to the couple – who are living in Boston while Tom shoots his latest movie ‘Wichita’ – said: “Katie has been listening to her parents who are devout Catholics.

“She is not convinced by Scientology and has told Tom that she wants Suri to be educated as a Catholic – as she was.

“They had been having huge problems agreeing on her school. To say they were having arguments it putting it mildly – but Tom came around to the idea in the end.”

Tom was raised Catholic but converted to Scientology in 1990.

No rep confirmation on this story. I seriously doubt that Tom would allow such a thing since he is a true believer in his religion and basically the spokesperson. Let’s see if the couple responds to this rumor.

    Halejuja!!!!

I hope, this is not tactic from Tom for pushing his movies!

  4. Anonymous says:

Suri looks like a homeless kid

  5. Mistyblue says:

If this is true, it should finally out to rest all of the stories about how Katie is brainwashed by Tom, how he makes all the decisions, controls her life, etc.

Can I just say gorgeousness overload!!!!!! Anonymouse is right. Kids had songs for previous U.S. Presidents but the Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm Obama if you hear the entire song is very political not historical or even patriotic.

  7. maiah912 says:

I think Suri’s dress is cute.

  8. DonnaJ says:

If its true, I’m glad for Suri.

stop posting nonsense on this site for filler spaces.
Love the Cruises but any lil gossip on the google page is not truth. When will some stupid ppl learn?

  10. gothamite says:

Lots of love and respect for Tom,Katie and Suri. Like most celebs kids and many kids these days Im banking this is just another rumor. Suri will be homeschooled.

  11. Erika1980 says:

There aren’t many public preschool programs, so most parents have to send their children to private school. A majority of schools offering preschool programs have a religious affiliation. However, it’s preschool…which is basically like daycare.

  12. anonymouse says:

Suri will be homeschooled like Isabella and Connor. This family are just darling. Im for any school as long its safe for my kids and teaches the real deal and real U.S.history not the one we saw where they sing and worship Obama.

  13. shipper23 says:

Suri will be gorg like her mom and dad.

  14. Monica says:

I am not a fan of religion, but I do respect those who practice. I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic schools my whole life. However, I think it is a very, very evil and discriminatory religion. I am not sure if I will raise my kids Catholic. Religion causes a lot of hate in this world.

  15. casablancas17 says:

Suri is SO STINKING CUTE! Too bad her dad is a weirdo.

  16. Anonymous says:

anonymouse, the kids were singing “worship” about previous presidents as well, not just obama :)

Suri more than likely will be homeschooled.

  17. 2009 says:

Im Protestant but went to a Catholic school all my life. I respect all religions. Of all the stars Im a fan of Suri and TomKat are great with her. I doubt this is even true and go by the homeschool theories.

  18. lara jane says:

I know you can afford to buy this kid a coat, for Pete’s sake!

  19. bgduckie_01 says:

it’ll be interesting to see if its true. either way, suri is so cute.

  20. Chelle says:

    Suri is a cutie.

  21. suffy_78 says:

And get her fringe trimmed while you’re at it.. Poor thing can’t see a thing in front of her!

  22. DaleJuniorAmp88 says:

There is a difference between having a religion and having ethics & morals.

I’m Atheist by choice, but I have high morals and know how to handle myself.

  23. Anonymous says:

ITS A CATHOLIC SCHOOL OF COURSE RELIGION HAS ITS PLACE THERE. Maybe if more kids actually had the choice of religion in their life our society would not be such a joke. As a parent it is your job to make sure you child has the opportunity to learn about religion. All these kids today that have no faith and no idea about ETHICS and MORALS are a disgrace. Thats the parents fault.

  24. AliceW says:

Yeah, why enroll her in a religious school at all? Religion should have no place in a school. They should have the subject Ethics, where you learn about all the different kinds of religion and then make up your own mind. I hate when parents decide for their child who/what to believe in.

Suri is so cute in these pictures. I really like that dress on her.

  25. KissKiss says:

She is not convinced by Scientology”

I don’t see how anyone can be convinced by some (obviously) fictional stories written by L. Ron Hubbard. Unless you’re having some serious mental issues.

  26. laurnicorn says:

    AGREED

  27. smp209 says:

i agree! i hate when people think that public schools are terrible, i went to public schools and they were absolutely amazing, i had a lot of great teachers

  28. DaleJuniorAmp88 says:

Why enroll her in a religious school at all? What’s wrong with a public school like all of the other children go to?

  29. Anonymous says:

ALL the “other children” (who are they anyway) do not go to public school.

  30. DonnaJ says:

That could depend on a few things: 1) In Urban areas the public schools can be rough, so some parents opt to put their children into Catholic school because it is safer. 2) Some Catholic people send their children to Catholic school because they can get their religion classes as well as their education all in one place. 3) Catholic schools tend to have better curriculums than public schools.

  31. papyrus says:

ANYTHING better than scientology. besides children should be exposed to all religions and non religious belief so they can decide themselves if they want to believe in a higher power or not. i dont agree with parents that raise their kids based on their belief no matter what this is, its brainwashing when the kid havent had a chance to decide for himself.

  32. KissKiss says:

Have you seen the documentary Jesus Camp? It goes against everything you believe in (well, from what I read in your post) It’s very disturbing

  33. kimmytoo says:

    brainwashing? that is pretty strong.

  34. Anonymous says:

And obviously Katie doesnt assume that Suri is a Scientologist since she is seen eating crap food everyday and sugar is a major no no in Scientology. Let Katie grab hold to every ounce of normalcy she can get. And please Suri is taking some classes while Tom shoots a movie, lets stop making it out like they have her enrolled in a nunnery.

  35. audrey says:

I don’t think anyone should be pushing organized religion on the masses these days. There are way too many scandals that contradict the messages they are trying to pass on to us. Everyone has some sort of moral compass inside them–and you don’t need to go to church to find it.

  36. papyrus says:

well said Dale. Lots of horrific crimes have been done in the name of a God. Morals and Ethics almost never goes hand in hand with religion.

  37. Anonymous says:

so says YOU. according to whose standards are your morals so high? I’m not trying to insult you, just show the difference – it is God’s standard that we are talking about with “religion”. High morals can mean anything at all if God isn’t the standard – and that’s the point.

  38. laurnicorn says:

You’d be hard pressed to find someone who actually follows ALL of God’s “moral standards”….eat shrimp ever? etc etc

  39. YAYI says:

What’s wrong?? You’re funny!!! anyways, Suri is growing up to be an adorable litlle lady :)

  40. Anonymous says:

    ha?

  41. Anonymous says:

Other sites have this story and a lot of the comments said it’s not a school or religious. More like daycare or a day program. Also Tom has said many times that scientologists can also practice other religions. I haven’t heard that Tom is intolerant of other religions.

  42. Anonymous says:

Boston public schools are awful, most parents try and go for private schools for the sake of their childs education (if they can afford the pricey tuition)… most private schools are relgion-based. Being in Boston that would be Catholic schools. There is nothing wrong with having a Catholic school and having that option. I went to Catholic school for 12 years of my life. In the end, I chose not to make my “Confirmation.” Even if children are in a Catholic school, that doesn’t mean they are forced to go down that path.

  43. papyrus says:

havent seen it, but the title says a lot.
