Fox Confirms Full Season Of Dollhouse

Well, that’s a relief!!

My guess is Dollhouse won’t be back for a third, but fans can rest easy knowing that we will at least get through this season’s 13 episodes. Ratings are plummeting, no one is tuning in and Joss Whedon is getting hate mail. There’s lots of negativity surrounding this show.

However, some good news did come out today. People are DVRing the time slot… which makes some Fox execs happier.

Premiere-week DVR data released Monday showed that the second-season

“Dollhouse” debut climbed 50% from its very modest base of a 1.0 rating in the adults 18-49 demo. Preston Beckman said DVR results have played a role in the show’s fate, though he wasn’t surprised by the new numbers.

“It’s one of the reasons that we brought ‘Dollhouse’ back; we knew it was DVR-friendly,” Beckman said. “Hopefully we’ll see the overnight ratings increase from week to week. With some shows, you have to look at the bigger picture.”

Joss says just in case the show doesn’t get picked up, he is tying the majority of loose ends in the last episode.

“We’ll definitely have closure but will leave some doors open,” said Whedon, who’s shooting the eighth episode.

I’m a fan, but obviously not many are. Are you watching ‘Dollhouse’?

I love this show. It seems like Whedon is always fighting against raitings and the networks but has some amazing fans, hah. I’d very much like to see more, but it’s not gonna kill me if they cancel. Firefly, on the other hand, i’ve never gotten over from, lol, pathetic.

I really like this show it is very creative and interesting…I just wish that Joss spent more time at the beginning of the series (instead of coming in 7 episodes too late to fix the shows problems), I think that more people would be watching it now. I really hope that the network sees that the DVR ratings are high and that people really do want to watch the show. If not at least Joss is going to answer a lot of the questions and tie up a lot of loose ends the show has developed.

I love the show. It should come on after Fringe. So similar in revealing the corrupt, underground, secret societies, experimenting with us humans with no remorse. It is a show that shows everyday people brainwashed by those around them, t.v religion, government, media. It is close to the truth of how we are puppets to the system, say modern day slaves. Think of Minority Report Most shows that wake up the masses get canceled, if you aren’t brainwashed for their better good the show has to go. Go back and watch The Matrix, Zeitgeist, any Micheal Moore film.

dont watch it anymore but it was a good show when i did watch it. that’s good they’ll finish the good season cuz it sucks when you like a show and they just cut it off and leave u hanging.

  8. sweet kiddo says:

    not watching it

  9. habslove says:

I wish that FOX would change it and put with House or Bones or even 24. Something that would help the show cause I think it has lasting potential. No one is watching cause its on Friday! I usually work when it comes on but DVR it so I can watch it later. FOX is always canceling shows. This is the one show that they need to save. If I were them, I’d be working with it, cause its’ the best showthey have!

FOX has got a great show on their hands. It sucks that its on Fridays. They need to pair it with House Or Bones. It would stand a better chance. I really hope it makes it to another season cause there’s so many possible ways it could go. But knowing FOX, they’ll cancel it. That’s the feeling I get when I read the Joss quote.

  12. Linda123 says:

Considering it does so well on dvr, you would think that is a hint that the network needs to change the night. Dollhouse is really good. Maybe if Fox doesn’t grow some brains another network would pick it up.

  13. Chelle says:

Don’t watch it but good for them.

  14. maiah912 says:

    I haven’t either.

  15. dieselchicklett says:

    never seen the show.

  16. DonnaJ says:

I guess that would depend on your interpretation of creativity.

  17. Pam says:

This is one of the most unique shows on tv. But I guess some people can’t handle creativity. I love all the characters and I will be so upset if it gets canceled. Just change the time slot.

  18. DonnaJ says:

    You ok?

  19. Anonymous says:

I love dollhouse and why would anyone expect my request to join this site???????????

  20. Anonymous says:

I love it. I think it would be neat if the show did end up getting canceled that they did a straight to dvd movie about the Epitaph episode.

  21. Riviera says:

I’ve never heard about this show. Why is Joss Whedon receiving hate mail? What did he do?

  22. Nemiha says:

    he cancelled buffy… lol

  23. OutInLeftField says:

I watched the first few episodes and I just couldn’t get into it, which is too bad because I love Tamoh Penikett.

  24. I watch it, but not live. Not like that would matter much anyway, Nielsen is a terrible ratings system.

I like Helo’s—I mean Tahmoh Penikett’s—character this season.

  25. sweet kiddo says:

    LOL !

  26. kimmytoo says:

    LOL

  27. Anonymous says:

Doesn’t it come on Friday nights? It’s major audience (age 18-34) are going out. If they changed the night it would probably do better.

  28. Hrafnhildure says:

I love this show. I am a huge Joss Whedon fan and love this concept. Plus I am getting a bit tired of the vampire-ism so I think Dollhouse is way different and cool. And I love Tamoh Penikett.

I have noticed that shows that I really like and want to follow get cancelled. :(

  29. suffy_78 says:

Dare I say that this is the first time I ever hear about this show, but then I don’t live in the States so that maybe the reason.
