Update: Judge Orders Jon And Kate Gosselin To Come To An Agreement
Well, the showdown between Jon and Kate Gosselin with the judge is over: for today. According to reports, they first met with an arbitrator, were unable to come to a resolution, and went before the judge.
According to a court source, Judge Arthur Tilson told the couple he wants the money that's been taken out of the joint account to be returned immediately.
Then he wants them to give mediation another try. The judge reportedly told the couple he's willing to sign off on whatever agreement they work out with a arbitrator as long as it's in the children's best interests. He also reportedly told them to keep things "private" and "amicable."
Apparently, while Kate is claiming that Jon withdrew $230,000 out of their joint account, Jon denies the withdrawal was "improper" and claims that Kate withdrew $60,000.
Jon and Kate are due back in court on October 26, and the judge told them that that hearing would be open to the public. Think he's trying to get them to behave?
Update: According to TMZ, Jon was ordered to repay $180,000 by October 26 or appear for contempt proceedings.

i'm sure she must have used some that joint money to get herself those nice boobs that she was sporting on the beach this summer....they are both playing dirty....all of a sudden she's claiming broke and needs spousal support...give me a break. you sure can't take the white trash out of a person!! blech!! they are both disgusting and have no sense of morals or decency for themselves for their kids. they were both too greedy and wanted too much too fast...now its blowing up in both of their faces....they should be left with nothing in the end for only thinking of themselves and not the children...

I used to watch this show the first year it came out. It's mind-boggling how different this couple was back then. Both were frumpy, but seemed down-to-Earth and normal (yes, I know Kate was bossy. So are a lot of people I know.)
Now they're both complete morons. Do they not even for one second think about how this is all affecting their children? How ironic to make a living off your kids, using the excuse that you wanted a better life for them, all the while ruining their lives.

This whole scene is almost too dramatic for real life, but I've seen it happen several times -- though on a much smaller scale, of course.
I read on FOX Philly that the judge didn't actually make any rulings this morning and just told them that "all money" should be put back and to work it out in arbitration before the next hearing (I think on 10/26). So no one won or lost, they both just got chewed out. Kate's statement is ridiculous. Does she REALLY think the public isn't on to her antics??
I just hope that the court does not consider her tannings, hair butcher job, mani & pedis, and spa treatments as household expenses. If so, then whatever Jon needed for his personal use as far as taking care of himself should be taken into consideration also.
Kate STILL has to prove that the money she took was used for the proper means and not some 'handwritten' note she jotted down. She has to have certifiable receipts from vendors (schools, utility companies, mortgage company, etc.). She can't just say she paid household expenses out of the account and that's it. She has to PROVE it. She isn't off the hook. Arbitrators carry A LOT of weight in court.

I don't know that Jon has changed that much in terms of how he dresses. He was always sort of a trendy. Kate on other hand never seemed to care, and it was Jon who would take her out and help her choose. All of a sudden, she's miss glamour puss? ugh. I would love to know where the money comes from as well, for the breast augmentation, the mani/pedi/spa days, the clothes, the gazillion pairs of shoes she now seems to wear ..... fair is fair.
As for the reported hearing results, I think the judge said sort it out. Put all the money back (no matter who took it out) and Kate does have to justify her expenses. If Jon is paying 7200/m, and she is supposed to pay the same, then what are these other expenses? I don't see Jon with a retinue of lawyers, publicists, etc. He has one lawyer ( I wish he would change that one he has!). He went on One vacation ... big whoop. Yes he has nice cars .. so what? They still have the "bus", that I am sure he had to pay a loan on for years before they ever got "famous" on the show. Where in all of this, does Jon's years as husband and father get recognized? He was right there alongside Kate up until he didn't want to put up with her anymore, and left. Like a shrew, she immediately filed for divorce, hoping that he would come running home with his tail between his legs. But that isn't happening, and she is just getting nastier and more vindictive. Jon may not quite know what to do with himself at this point, but I would far prefer that to a lying, harping, rude, lying woman like Kate. She's calculating and nasty. She may be a "good" mother at this point but you wait til these kids start using their own minds, and not doing what she wants. Hmmm ....I wonder what she will dream up for them then? Kate doesn't like people who stand up to her, or figure her out. She just gets rid of them. Can't get rid of your kids that easy Kate ... oh to be a fly on the wall when Mady is a teenager!

I don't know why people keep going on about what Jon spends. People seem to forget that he was 1/10th of that show and made a living doing so. It was half his income that bought the house, it was all of his income (along with help from his father) that bought the old house which still isn' sold (which is very strange). He's not the one going around saying that the kids have funds that are safe. I don't begrudge Jon his things. He's divorcing Kate. He can buy what he wants for crying out loud. According to "fact" they both pay at total of 15,000/m for support, yet it appears Kate hasn't been paying her share. And 55,000 in a few weeks sounds pretty insane. She's the one with security, three law firms, and all the niceties that she feels she's entitled to being a "star'..gag. What really gets me is that they got paid to parent their children, which is what they'd be doing anyway. I hope TLC stops putting these shows on the air - they're destructive and demeaning. Find a mother whose the mother of 8 kids, whose husband died and help her make money. These two have had their day. Let em go and we can all breathe again!

I just wonder if he'll be able to produce the money he took? I'm expecting to see him on Larry King soon with another sob story. Did anyone see the quote the other day from Michael Lohan who said his divorced dad show is a go, that they're just working on getting Jon released from his TLC contract? That's all he's after right now is a release so that he can try something else.

They should go back to the begining. And let them see for themselves how they have both changed. Have to say through it all Kate has never bcacked down nor has she embarassed her family in anyway. Her Brother and Sister-in-law did that for her. (two simpletons). He cheated and made his life an open book. Play you pay he is such an ass.
