It’s official! We have our next Bachelor! Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron announced during the reality show competition that Jake Pavelka has officially been named ‘The Bachelor’.
Jake was a contestant of “The Bachelorette” season 5 who did not get picked by Jillian Harris. Since his occupation is a commercial pilot, the new season will be subtitled “On the Wings of Love”. He will begin shooting in November for the premiere in January 2010.
Were you voting for Jake when he was vying for Jillian’s attention? Are you happy about the selection?
I would much rather see Kiptyn as the Bachelor. Jake is boring and too nice…he’s never going to be able to send people home. And I haven’t heard one person who is excited about this news. I’m guessing they couldn’t get anyone else to do it.
He looks hot, I’d like to see him in his uniform.
Seems too cocky. Thought Reed was more real.

I don’t watch the Bachelor or Bachelorette shows, but do hear a lot about them on the blogs I read. Correct me if I am wrong, but to date there has only been one truly successful couple that have stemmed from this show, so why keep it on? Can’t they come up with anything better than this format? All it has become is an excuse for men to treat women like skanks and for the women to choose the lying cheater that somehow always manages to sign up for the show despite being in a committed relationship at home.

I’ve skipped a lot of seasons but I watched the last one. He’s a good, decent guy and not cut out for a show like this. Just way too soft.
