Ford’s Warriors In Pink Teams Up With Martha Stewart To Raise Breast Cancer Awareness

During a special taping of ‘The Martha Stewart Show‘, which will air on Friday, October 16 (nationally syndicated, check local listings), daytime host Martha Stewart was joined by an audience full of survivors and supporters, as well as Ford Warriors in Pink to raise breast cancer awareness.

I was invited to attend alongside several NYC bloggers (Prime Time Parent, Skimbaco, Chapman Parenting, and Quirky Fusion) by Ford to help promote the episode.

One audience member had a chance to win a brand new 2010 Ford Taurus during the taping! Who won? Her name was Stephanie Adams and she was diagnosed with breast cancer at 27!!! I got goosebumps when I heard her story. She was absolutely shocked and really couldn’t process that she was walking away with such a prize.

To support Breast Cancer Awareness, Ford’s Warriors in Pink has developed a line of goods they sell in which 100% of all proceeds go towards funding Susan G. Komen for the Cure. This isn’t just in October – it’s all year long. The apparel and accessories feature important symbols signifying the message of hope, strength and unity in the commitment to the fight against breast cancer.

This year, they introduced the ‘Warriors in Pink stamp kit’ which was inspired by the team of crafting experts at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

This crafting tool provides Warriors with a creative way to show their support for the fight against breast cancer. Each stamp features one of Ford’s “Symbols of a Warrior,” evoking themes of peace, healing and strength in the battle against breast cancer. Because personal connections to breast cancer are varied, every symbol represents a distinct message of power that is personalized for every Warrior’s journey.

You can use them to make stationery, gift wrap, tags and more. Shopping for a cause is the best way to shop, right?

I HATE October and Breast Care Awareness Month. I am a breast cancer patient, diagnosed early, which means crap in the long-scheme of things, because there are still OVER 40,000 of dying each year with this horrid beast of a disease. YOu can be Stage 1 one month, and your next 3-mos. pet/ct scan can make you Stave IV – considered terminal. Many gals fight on as Stage IV’s but their lives consist mostly of chemo after chemo, pills, tests, anything they need to stay alive and still function. I have triple negative breast cancer, one of the worst to get. Everyone know what that is? Bet you don’t – and why not, because we have no hormone receptors, we have no meds, we are just put on cookie cutter chemos, made for all the “easier” and “better” types of breast cancer, then we have rads, and then we have nothing. No pills, just prayers. Until the get us triple neg’s the proper meds to extend our lives, and better meds for the ER/PR Receptor gals that are still dying one and two years after “early” diagnose – they can take all their “pink” and ship it off to sea for all I care. BREAST CANCER IS A HORRID DISEASE KILLING TOO MANY EACH YEAR – IT IS NOT A MARKETING TOOL.
