'Jon & Kate Plus 8' Goes Off The Air
I guess Jon Gosselin finally got what he wanted after all. After demanding the filming stop for 'John & Kate Plus 8' the show is now going to go off the air in mid to late November since all filming has stopped.
"They will eke out what they can in terms of more shows," a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com. "Obviously they are not shooting anymore so they are taking what they have and seeing how many more episodes they can get out of it."
Even if Jon decides at the last minute that filming is okay to be resumed he will not play a large part in the show, as previously planned. This is hard times for Kate Gosselin since the show is how she plans to support her children.
This is all just becoming one big mess. Are you going to miss watching the eight Gosselin kids on television or is this really the best thing for them right now?
I've never watched the show but I've followed the press on their split. Kate Gosselin is a nurse. There's no reason whatsoever she wouldn't be able to support her children. Perhaps she should tone down the way she lives. Plenty of people raise that number of kids but they don't live in million + $ homes nor do they go on all the outings these kids do. She needs to just get over herself. She seems to be publicity hungry. I don't even understand what would make these people famous.
I don't understand what the problem is. Yes people do survive with 8 kids but they struggle a lot. Hell, single moms now a days struggle with 4 kids at times. I've never seen where the children did not look like they were having a good time. I hope someone explains to them that the show going off the air is not their fault and it has nothing to do with them. It would be a shame if they thought they did something wrong.

I my may be one of the few that will miss the show; but I till truly miss it! I know that it is probably best for the kids, but I LOVED watching the kids every week. They are soooo adorable! I really tuned in to see them and their little adventures. And in the first few seasons; jon and kate were a cute couple.
I have missed the show since it became a soapbox for kate to showcase her own aganeda and not about the kids.
I totally agree last night on the series finally i cried because i loved wtching the show for the kids. I new by watching the show i was supporting the kids and thats what i loved. They wuld lightin my day up because they make the cutest cmments that just make you giggle. My favorite was collin they were all funnie and great. I wished i could go baby sit the kids because i love them so much i have seen every episode and hope to still see them grow in the future. John was selfish for being the one to take the show off air because he didnt want to be a part of it well guess what that show supported your 8 kids and everything they have got to do. Those kids have went more places in the last 5 years than most people go in their intire life so shame on you john because your kids are gonna have to suffer cuz u no longer wanted to be part of the show

She is a registered nurse. Jon has nothing else he is qualified for. He'd better start pounding the pavement hard. He has 9 people to support plus his gold digging ho not to mention the TLC lawsuit. He dug himself quite the ditch.

It's long overdue for this show to be gone. I hope it stays off forever.
I will miss the show. As for the "outings" that someone commented on - Kate doesn't pay for those, if you'd ever given the show a chance, you'd know that these venues invite the Gosslins to come and stay.
And I find it hard to believe that ANYONE on here wouldn't love to be able to stay home with their kids and raise them for this kind of cash, just to have a camera crew in their home. The first 5 years of the kids lives are documented like no other - one day they can watch some of the episodes and see what they got to do and where they got to go. I don't think it's a bad thing.
I think it definitely has its pros and cons, but more cons than pros. When your mother takes pictures of your first poop in the potty chair for the viewing audience to see, that is definitely a con with me. Those poor kids will probably be teased about that forever, among many other horrific antics.
No, she doesn't pay for the outings, BUT she recently made reference to how upset the kids were by not going on them. I was simply saying.............too bad, there's no reason they should be going on that many anyway...............the majority of other kids don't.

You forget that Jon did work outside the home until Kate decided she needed him home so she could have her freedom to do her thing. I use to watch the show and have seen the interviews with her family. According to them, Jon did not walk out until long after Kate told him the marriage was over. In fact, the whole marriage in Hawaii happened after she had kicked Jon out of the bedroom. I cannot stand either one of them now, but Kate started this and now she is the one boohooing about it. Both of them need to get real jobs and support the multiple birth children that they (really she) was determined to have.

I totally agree and because of him the show is no longer being aired and that was how they supported the kids so when their struggling blame it on the weak selfish dad.......... I support kate and the kids because kate is doing it by her self and the show was a major part of her life so for all that finacal help t g o away its hard......... I love the kids and suport them as for John he can go lay and egg

Honestly I think it's the best thing for them. Because no one knows if the kids wanted to be famous; no one asked them. So I think this is probably for the best. I've never watched the show but I don't think it's fair to force that on kids who might not want to be on TV. Kate has made plenty of money already so I don't think she should have any problem supporting her kids.

Go back to where it all began and how hard it must have been. Yes people change sometimes for the better sometimes not. Through all this Kate has never once backed down. Even when her Brother and sister-in-law dug a whole and pushed her in. Lets keep in mind he cheated and shoved down the worlds thoart embarassed his family. If there way of living has to change I still think kate will make a go of it. No man is better then a cheating pig!

Neither of the parents are a model of anything that other parents would want to have their children copying. The exploitation of the children by both the parents and TLC is beyond disgusting. Jon may be the myriad of names he's been called, but I don't think weak is one of them. To pull the children off television, was one of the best things Jon has done in the past several months. It's all very sad how it's turned out, but there are other more positive families out there to emulate.

It has already been reported Jon and Kate is cancelled. It's whether Kate Plue Eight is going to air. The show doesn't tape 24/7 365 days so not filming right now doesn't mean anything. I think they do need a break since the paparazzi are now following the kids. Kate is doing a talkshow with Paula Dean. Kate will be fine since she will have opportunies. Jon will be the deadbeat.

He is weak when his poketbook was shut. Then he wanted to think about his family to little to late. Was he thinking of them in Vegas and everywhere else it was off to with his oh so young girlriend? I think not.

I watched the show some (reruns) when the drama started out of curiosity and not understanding what the big deal was about the Gosselins. From my observation, Kate acted awful on camera and Jon acted awful off camera. If this isn't scripted; the kids are the ones being hurt just from the 24/7 stuff that goes on around them.
I can't imagine how hard it is/or will be to be accepted as a "normal" kid by other kids and their parents. I would just be embarrassed.

The kids were fine before their trashy dad went off cheating and partying Vegas style. I watched the show for few years and there were nothing in the media about them until Jon and Kate announced their separation.
Pretty soon 10 people will be on welfare. No way they can have that kind of lifestyle without the show or Kate suporting the kids on her own. Good job, Jon...
anyone that will miss this show should check out Raising Sextuplets on We tv. I watched it over the summer and found it to be just like J+K when their show first started out, not like the episodes now.
The show will never be completely off TV. Now they show repeats continually even in the middle of the night. Hopefully they are getting some kind of payment for these reruns and this should benefit their trust funds. I counted 8 times in one day they were on...more than anyone in TV ever. With this money set aside for the children J & K can get normal jobs to support themselves and the kind of lifestyle it affords...meaning cut down on where they live and how they live. The kids will get over their past material lives and get down to the real world that they should have been living in for the past 4 yrs.
These kids will be fine now that they are off the air during a nasty divorce. I just find it hilarious how everyone forgets what a horrible nag Kate was to Jon on the show. I dont condone cheating (that is still debatable not proven) but Im surprised he hung in there as long as he did. You do NOT belittle and berate and nag and talk down to the person you supposedly love on national television. good for him for getting out and good for the kids that this nastiness will not be aired anymore.
How can anyone forget how horribly Jon was treated on national television by Kate. She nagged, berated and belittled him for the world to see. Im surprised it took him this long to get out. He's done some dumb things but we all do stupid stuff. She was a RN and he was the main supporter when she stayed home with the kids. they both have careers to fall on and the kids will be fine. THis show does not need to be filmed during such a nasty divorce. I don't understand how she can't survive. She's not the only person on earth with 8 kids. My grandmother had 12 kids and my grandfather was the only bread winner. She survived!!! Plus she made millions on her books, show and appearances. Does she have to live in that mansion??? She is so full of herself. Stop eating organic and just ther will save her hundreds.

In the beginning, I watched the shows with my teen daughter as she loved it. My impression right away was how she treated Jon. However, even when I was watching those beginning shows, and some of the shows towards the end, all I could think about was the kids and that having a camera crew in their face constantly would no doubt have an impact on their lives. I for one am glad it is off the air. As far as support goes, they have accumulated millions of dollars and the parents both have careers to fall back on. As for Kate, my impression was that she will continue to exploit these kids and in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if she is already working on a book entitled "Kate plus 8 Minus Jon".

Finally.
Although I have never agreed with the intial decision to do the reality show with the kids, I can understand the need for them do do it initially to support the kids when they were young. Now that the kids are older there is no reason for them to be growing up in front of the cameras. Kate is trained as a nurse and in addition to the royalites the family should receive from re-runs, books sales and lectures, I don't think supporting the kids is an issue at this time. It is time to let the children grow up and mature outside of the public eye and for Kate and Jon to move forward with their lives, where ever that may take them.
There are alot more families out there struggling to support their children without the luxury of royalities. Their 15 minutes of fame has run it's course. Let's move on to more important matters, like all those families losing loved ones fighting the war overseas.
I wish them the best but enough already.
