Not every show is going to work like ‘The O.C.‘ did, and Mischa Barton has learned her lesson – no more TV work. Guess the actress got burned from her time on ‘The Beautiful Life‘.
You put all that effort and energy into something just to have the network cancel the show before it’s 6 episodes in. A movie is much different – there is a guaranteed start and finish. Viewers will be able to actually see how the script ENDS. LOL!
“I think I need to back away from the whole TV approach,” she said. “That whole world of network television, probably isn’t, for me, a good idea now. I need to start reading for more serious roles.”
So what is Mischa looking into these days?
“It’s too early to tell yet,” she said. “I’m passing on all the [early] offers, because that’s not the stuff you want to do. I want to go fight for interesting things and look for something that’s going to be interesting for me … as a role.”
Can’t wait to see what she wins.

I wish her luck, but think maybe she shouldn’t pass up on everything–you never know what role will end up furthering her career.
She didn’t have much luck after The OC, did she? I think it will be hard, if not impossible, for her to find a good movie to do that’ll make bank at the box office. I think she’s pretty typecasted.

I don’t think she should be turning down anything (“passing on all the early offers”)… beggars can’t be choosers. What’s the point of being an “actor” if you’re not working?!
She was only good in “The sixth sense” since she had no lines and was only supposed to look scary.
I’ve never been a fan of Mischa’s. She is a horrible actress, and is usually a big mess on the fashion end of things. I can’t see her being in demand for movies either.

The only thing I’ve ever seen her in is The Sixth Sense. She was decent in that, but nothing memorable.
I can’t decide whether or not I like her dress. As for her acting career; I’ve never seen her act, so I can’t comment.
If she cannot make it in television, how is she going to make it in film? She’s not that great of an actress. On a positive note, it’s good to see her genuinely smiling once again. =]
I saw one episode of the OC and a movie she was in, she’s a terrible actress. She should take acting lessons since she’s “in between projects” or she will forever be in between projects.
She seems to be looking more healthy.
Great idea from her part!!! I can totally see her making movies other than tv shows.
