This seemed like such a stable relationship for Rosie O’Donnell! Yet she seemed to confirm in a USA Today interview that she and partner Kelli Carpenter are having problems. When asked if the pair had split, this was Rosie’s answer:
“We’re a family. We will remain a family forever. And we are working on our issues.”
Rosie declined to provide further details, saying:
“Kelli and I love each other very much and we are working on our issues. Those are the only words I am ever going to say. Ever. And that is something that has been agreed upon by all parties,” she said, tears collecting in her eyes.
“But everything’s fine and everybody’s good and we’re still both raising them together. We will both continue to parent them and we’re friendly and everything’s all right.”
The pair have four children: Parker (14), Chelsea (12), Blake (9), and Vivienne (Viv, age 6).
“We’re a family, we remain a family and we’re working on the issues,” O’Donnell reiterated, noting that there are four children whose well-being comes before anything.
“They’re adorable and wonderful and they are by far a priority,” O’Donnell said.
Rosie and Kelli married in San Francisco in 2004. Rosie would not confirm (or, it sounds like, deny) reports that Kelli had moved out of their home and was living in Manhattan.
Hopefully they are able to do what’s best for themselves and their family.

I hate to hear about breakups (sounds like this is one or headed that way). So hard on the kids.
I used to like Rosie so much, esecially her show, but she seems so different now. I just can’t warm up to her anymore.
I seriously don’t like her, but breakups are terrible.
The issue is having Rosie for a partner. I feel badly for the children though.
I feel bad when people are private and genuine about their struggles. Rosie and Kelly have been so private and I hope they continue to work out the issues and raise their family with class and dignity as they have thus far. I wish them luck.

Breakups are so horrible for children. That being said, it must be very hard to live with Rosie. She seems a bit unstable.
