Is Tom Cruise Going To Be A Judge On SYTYCD?

If the people on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ have their way, then yes! Host Cat Deeley and permanent judge Adam Shankman think Tom Cruise would be a great guest judge, according to what they told E! Online’s Marc Malkin.

Tom loves the show, so I hope so,” new permanent judge Adam Shankman says. “I happen to love Tom, and Tom loves dancing, so it would be great.”

“I’d never met him before [Katie performed on the show] so I had no idea what to expect.” Deeley remembers. “He was an absolute sweetheart. He was taking videos of his little girl and wife. Just like any guy, he was incredibly proud of his spouse.”

However, that doesn’t mean we should expect to see Katie Holmes back to perform again.

Deeley doesn’t think so. While she said she thought Holmes’ performance was “great,” she thinks “once was probably enough.

“It’s quite terrifying to go on and do something like that when that’s not what you’re known for,” she said. “I can only respect people who put themselves out there and go for it and try new things and that’s exactly what she did.”

This makes me think about Tom dancing in his underwear and socks in ‘Risky Business.’ Would you like to see Tom guest judge or Katie return to perform again (or both)?

I seriously doubt Tom would be a judge. Yes the ratings are really down I think for two reasons 1. no competition in the summer 2. they did the fall season just a few weeks after the summer season. Too much of a good thing. I don’t think Katie’s performance was bad. I think people had such high expectations and assumed she would be a professional dancer. She didn’t do a lot of dancing but not bad for an amature.

That would really piss me off if I was a dancer. He has no credentials to judge them. What, dancing in your underwear in Risky Business makes you an expert??? Ridiculous.

ONCE was DEFINITELY enough to see Katie try to dance. That entire thing was hilarious! Sort of made me feel sorry for her. She seems so desperate for fame and she can’t seem to get it except for being Cruise’s wife.

    Gotta get those ratings up.

This isn’t going to make me tune in. Only if he’s going to do his dance from Tropic Thunder, maybe!! LOL

He’s not a dancer, what does he know about judging dancers and choreography?… and NO katie did not have a great performance she barely danced and looked uncomfortable. but when you have money and influence you can sit next to the pope and pretend you are holy.

  15. Mistyblue says:

Just because he danced in his undies a billion years ago in a movie doesn’t mean he’s qualified to judge “real” dancers.

  16. DonnaJ says:

    Here, here!

Have you seen him on Tropic Thunder? He’s got some really good moves there…

Yeah I hear the ratings went remarkably down since they decided to run the new season in the fall. I’m not sure having Tom Cruise would help them, but who knows?
